Part 2 - Rome through the Broke Traveller's lens - Ep 17

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Since I will be leaving for the mountains of Norway later today and I will be away from Steemit for a few days, I am posting the posts I had in mind of doing before my trip. I wanted to do them the past few days but since I always end up working, I had to postpone posting them until now.

Here goes part 2 of my recent trip to Rome for you to enjoy in images. I wish I had the time to write more to add to these but since I will be camping in Norway near Trolltunga very soon, I need to pack and start preparing my backpack.

In case you missed it, you can find part 1 HERE. Also, back 3 weeks ago when I returned from my trip I did THIS short preview for it.

To continue from where I left it in the last episode, we (+ @meanmommy33) were outside the Vatican and we were heading for St Peter's Square.

St Peter's Square.

The she-wolf from the legend of Romulus and Remus that is considered to be a symbol of ancient Rome.

St. Angelo Bridge - Ponte Sant'Angelo

Castel Sant'Angelo - A 2nd-century castle.

Here we started walking through the Rione V Ponte area.

Piazza Navona - Great looking 1st century A. D. square where we had lunch at one of the places there. The food was good but overpriced, as one might expect in such a popular spot...

Fountain of Neptune - Fontana del Nettuno

COLVMNA·TRAIANI or Trajan's Column

The infamous Colosseum - Colosseo.

Roman Forum - Foro Romano

Image of me taken by @meanmommy33 with my camera. Thanks! :)

And that was the last shot of the trip...I wish to return at a less hot time of the year.

The gear I used to take these was my Nikon D700 and a Nikkor 24-85mm 3.5-4.5 G ED lens. I wouldn't say it is the lightest set up but I find it manageable to carry around when travelling. I'll let you be the judges of the results I got with it.

Hope you like the post and please let me know what you think about the shots. I really like feedback...

Also, I would want you to know that I would be humbled if you decided to use any of my images, however, please contact me about it first to discuss the matter. Thank you! :)

Hello ! You are very lucky to visit such beautiful places!

Sorry for the late reply, I've been up in the mountains for a bit. Cheers for "dropping by"! I do feel privileged at times. Although these things are relative I guess...still quite happy with the way things are going.
