Garden Photo Update: A different perspective [Gardening]steemCreated with Sketch.

This garden area has turned out to be extremely prolific this year. This is the results of amending the soil each year and practicing successive sowing. New plants were constantly springing up from seeds all Spring. Now that it is Summer, the space is nearly packed full.

As some of my friends know, my strategy for the backyard garden was to have various companion planting areas. In this part of the garden, everything was ultra focused on supporting the pumpkin and corn. You'll find all of the Three Sisters here, along with many other helper crops.

I wanted to share the understory view first, as it hides a shady tropical paradise underneath the many colorful layers.

This is the perspective view of a small bug. Small creatures roaming the garden area can easily find the radishes, carrots, lettuce sprouts, morning glory, strawberries, beans, pumpkin blossoms, and tiny insects hiding under the leaves of plants. Plenty of decaying grass stalks mulch the soft soil, providing pocket sources for extra moisture to be found.

From up above, we see things from a bird's eye view.

Plenty of flowers from the nasturtiums and radishes to feed the bees and butterflies. Corn and sunflower plants are continuing to lift up to greater heights every day to gobble up the sunlight. Strawberry leaves are filling the voids, and possibly hiding sweet little treasures underneath.

This forest of annuals is looking like a success so far. Very few signs of pests like slugs, aphids, and caterpillars.

Actually I did find one green caterpillar crawling on the orangy-red petals of a nasturtium flower last week. It might have well had painted a target on it's back, because I'm sure it became the dessert course for a happy bird somewhere.

How do you think it compares to my original plan? This was my illustrated plan back from this past Winter.

Hello @creativetruth, it's great you have your own plants to support part of your diet, something similar we do. I hope your cultivation continues with a lot of success ...

Pretty cool! Looks a bit different than the plan, but while I admired the plan, the garden has it beat!
