Hi everyone! It has been weeks and I truly apologise for the silence, but know that even when I have been away, experiments are still continuing in sustaining the recycling effort to turn bottles into useful delightful pots.

If you have read my old post before, The Heart of Recycling... An experiment recycling, you would have noticed that I have made a few bottles of bought water bottles into something that could be useful for indoor decorations.

And as this experiment continues, I did not fill all the soil up to the brim, i started with the lowest layer and they survived pretty well.

So little by little, I added more layers of soil and let it settle while I added extra stamps of the Single Patel Japanese Rose by sticking into the side of the wholes of the bottle. In between the soil layers I actually added burnt ground coffee as fertiliser.

When I have filled it up to the brim after another few more days, I was able to stick at the top of the layer, giving a nice tier effect for the bottle.

Trimming is also very important during the blooming and withering stage. This is to enable the plant to push forth new sprouts of leaves. I usually trim off the heads once all the ends of the flower has no more buds to bloom.

And how has this been for the pot after different times of pruning?

Voila!

They have been sprouting high up and has been blooming. Today I had a full bloom from all sides so it is a perfect time to show you. They looked a little "soft" as they were just showered with rain this morning.

I have spotted some little ones pushing out on the sides, which means it is time to trim off the old blossom stems to be re-planted into another bottle, while I leave the new sprouts grow.

Maybe when I have enough bottles ready and happily growing, these pots can be up for sale for those who like little pots of life lightening up their day in the office or by the balcony. Who knows?

And as for the experiment goes. It turns out pretty good! Although I do realise that I need to add more fertiliser to pump them a little.
