Hi ULOG Steemit friend’s!
Today was an extension to my birthday. I was to go to the beach and popular local boardwalk of Ponce, but unfortunately everything that could have happened happened on my birthday. We made the best of it on my actual birthday so no complaints (sort of, LOL). Well that is the last now and today my birthday or like I call it God given extension and blessing, was fulfilled.

I am attracted to bodies of water. I must have been a fish in some other century. Kidding! 😆 Anyway, as I was trying to say before I rudely interrupted myself, got to go to the beach as I had wanted and even though my Mother was unable to join us the beautiful Princess stepped up to the plate.

Princess had not seen me in two days and nicely surprised when she and I friend went to pick me up. It was Princesses first time visiting the location where I actually live. Poor thing always thought I actually lived at my Mother’s home. Like a child she has been getting super clinging when I leave for a day or two and she does not understand.

Little Princess went crazy when she saw me approach the vehicle. She could not believe that not only was she able to escape but had me there. In reality I was just as ecstatic as her (and just as nervous at the new adventure).

Once at the car we immediately headed towards the beach. It was an extremely hot tropical day. The heat had started really early today, by 8 a.m. I was already sweating. The beach was just what we all needed.

Once we got to our destination the place was packed! Out of the vehicle music was blaring from all angles excessively. The crowd was large as well. I had not seen the boardwalk this full after the hurricane damaged severely the boardwalk and kiosks area.

Princess, which by now you may have figured is our pet (well that is the descripton most humans give them), was terrified. When we got closer to all the noise and crowd she jumped and only wanted me to hold her. Poor thing was so scared. This is actually her first time in a year to go out of her home. It all was too much. It was too much for me as well!

We walked a bit around the kiosks looking for a good place to buy an empanadilla (as they are called here. You might know them as empanadas or stuffed patties.). However, because of Princess we had to find a place quickly and leave the crowd just as quick as I bought the food.

We walked to where the sand and beach were. I opted to find not only the most beautiful little spot but the most tranquil. It also had to be the least populated spot too. I was not complaining I was more than happy to find a good area. I enjoy it much more where I can be more at peace to enjoy nature and my comfort food.

Gorgeous day and view. Above a couple taking a selfie in the picturesque scenery).

Finally Princess and I were enjoying ourselves. Princess discovering sand and hearing waves hitting the rocks hard. The sound scared her. She was not going to have it, getting up close was a definite no no.

Shortly after our friend and driver returned to join us and Princess was again getting clingy. She held Princess so that I could at least get my feet wet. I never or rarely get to go any further than that. I’m content with watching nature. The birds made it quite interesting to watch them dive to pick up fish. I was unable to get shots of them this time, since I was babysitting and my hands were literally full.

Well I got to enjoy the beach and the chance to spend it with my best friend and four-legged sister. Although she was clingy, due to her being terrified of so many strangers and so much noise from all angles, we all enjoyed ourselves. We were all beat!

Next time I will have to go back to take nature shots. For now these are all I was able to take.

belated happy birthday to you my dear nikki , and hi there princess!!! loved the photos
and that empanadilla , i think that's empanada here in Philippines @coquiunlimited

😘❤️❤️❤️

Thank you! Yes, most likely they are called that way there. I’m not sure why some Spanish influenced countries call it empanadas while it is called here similar but differently.

Happy Birthday Nikki What a picturesque place to celebrate this special occasion and I think Princess is adorable.....and very photogenic. She obviously needs to have more visits to the beach so she won't be so frightened next time. The best place to cool down on a hot summers day. How old is Princess @coquiunlimited?

Hi Trudee thank you! Princess will be 3 this coming September. Yes, she needs to go out more often. I will be bringing her when the area is less populated. After going through my shots of her it really made me aware of how terrified she must’ve really been.

Que bueno q disfrutaste un ratito agradable!

Si lo disfrute mucho, pero Princess acabo con mi energía, ella acabó hasta su propia energia! 😆
