1. Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor was a British-American actress and businesswoman who started acting as a child in 1940's and is regarded as one of the most popular star in classical Hollywood cinemas.

She was active as an actor during 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and mid 1970's and American film institute named her as Seventh greatest female screen legend.

Some of her movies include Father of the Bride, BUtterfield 8, Cleopatra, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.

She was a recipient of Presidential Medal of Freedom for her philanthropic works related to HIV/AIDS.

She was a 3 time Academy Award winner, 3 time Golden Globe Award winner, 2 time BAFTA Award winner.

She was also honoured with The Legion d’Honneur, the highest civilian honour in France.

2. Charles Best

Charles Best was a Canadian medical scientist and was one of the c--discoverers of insulin(the injection used for controlling sugar in diabetic patients).

As a medical student, Best worked with Dr. Frederick Bantling as an assistant and Bantling and Best are credited with discovery of insulin.

Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded to Bantling and J.J.J Macleod for insulin discovery ignoring Best and another assistant Collip.

Eventually, Bantling shared half of his money from Nobel prize with Best and Macleod did the same by sharing his half of the amount from prize with Collip.

Best was elected as a Foreign Member of Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.

He was also a fellow of Royal Society of London.

He was an inductee into Canadian Hall of Fame and National Investors Hall of Fame.

3. John Steinbeck

John Steinbeck was an American author who authored 27 books including 16 novels and 6 non-fiction books including the well known comic novels Tortilla Flat, Canney Row, East of Eden.

He was also well known for his Pulitzer Prize winning book The Grapes of Wrath, which is sold over 14 million copies.

In 1962, Nobel Prize for Literature was awarded to John Steinbeck "for his realistic and imaginative writings, combining as they do sympathetic humor and keen social perception".

4. Graeme Pollock

Graeme Pollock is a former South African cricketer who is regarded as South Africa's greatest cricketer and one of the best batsmen in the history of test cricket.

Although he could play only 23 tests during his test career because of Sporting boycott of South Africa, he was among many records and averaged over 60 in tests.

He was South Africa's Cricketer of the 20th century in 1999 and was selected as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1966.

5. David H. Hubel

David H. Hubel was an Canadian physiologist who mainly worked on structure and function of visual cortex(a part of the cerebral cortex (brain) that processes visual information).

Hubel worked as professor of neurology in Harvard Medical School and he was a founding member of World Cultural Council.

He also worked as President of the Society of Neuroscience.

He was co-awarded with Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine along with Torsten Wiesel and Roger Sperry in 1981.
