Howdy dear Steemit readers. Let me first explain what's up with this blog title as not to strain any reader's mind. The blog title simply means Pirates of the Carribean (PotC) Dead Men Tell No Tales (DMTNT).

Yours truly is a not a fan of the said movie franchise - it's because I'm a HUGE fan of the PotC series. I watched all Pirates of the Carribean film installments and can say that all are enjoyed. However, the degree of appreciation is somewhat varied. If I were to rate, the best ones would have to be the first and third installments, followed by the second and fourth, with the fifth landing on the last spot.

Although I enjoyed the last Pirates movie the least, I still had fun watching it (particularly the acting of Javier Bardem who played the role of Captain Salazar). Unfortunately, there are some instances in the film that are difficult to fathom.
These instances are discussed below. But before moving on, please be informed that this blog contain some spoilers

--- Will becoming a fish man

We'll start with WIll Turner (character played by Orlando Bloom). Interestingly, WIll is turning to be a fish dude (sorry for the lack of a better term). If memory serves, Tia Dalma (Calypso trapped in her human form) explained that this could only happen to the captain of Flying Dutchman if his duties (which is to ferry the dead to the other world) are not properly done - hence the obvious disfigurement of Davey Jones.

At the ending portion of At World's End (part 3 of the Pirates of the Carribean franchise), Will appears to have accepted his fate as captain of the dutchman and would be doing his duties accordingly. Besides, he has his father aboard the dutchman to knock some sense into him in case he begins neglecting his duties.

--- The compass that doesn't point north

The next thing that don't make sense is the compass. After seeing the part that Jack got the compass from his dying captain, I literally scratched my head. Wait, what, whoa!!! Didn't Tia Dalma gave the compass to Jack in the second entry of the franchise.

Besides, there are a number of occurrences wherein Jack willing gave away the compass. In fact, there are numerous times where the compass changed hands but no curses activated - and if we would strictly follow the timeline, Salazar would have been freed a long time ago.

---Is Salazar psychic?

Speaking of Salazar, aside from being captain of the Silent Mary, is he a pyschic or does he hold any form of mystic power. This is because, his first meeting with Jack is also supposedly the last. Strangely, he was able to deduce that Jack and the compass are the key to his freedom from the Devil's Triangle when all young Jack did was circularly swinging the compass.

Additionally, how did he survive? I mean, he was supposed to die inside the triangle but for some unknown reason, he and his crew didn't The only logical explanation is nothing or that he is mystic (in an eerrie voice .... ooooohhhhh)

---The fate of the Queen's Anne Revenge

Queen's Anne Revenge is the name of Blackbear's beloved ship. The ship was claimed by Barbossa when he defeated Blackbeard in "On Strange's Tides (the fourth installment of the franchise). Together with Blackbeard's sword, the Revenge is a truly formidable ship that the Pearl cannot even defeat. But in the movie, Barbossa abandoned the ship like it was nothing special. Of course, we all know that ships are not cheap and hard to come by (especially if you are a pirate).

Anyway, Queen's Anne Revenge is left stranded in the middle of nowhere while Blackbeard's sword is lost in the depths of the ocean floor when Barbossa plunged to his death to save his daughter's life.

That's just about it. Even though the film has a few plotholes, it is still a fun movie to watch.
