Travelfeed is one step ahead of the travelblogging game

in #travelfeed5 years ago

Travel blogging has exploded in the last decade with the adoption of Instagram and Youtube as mediums for users to share their experiences and earn some extra cash. However, these platforms (and many others) are centralized, and content is often monetized at the discretion of the large corporations. @travelfeed fixes this conundrum by being hosted on the Steem blockchain - a decentralized blockchain where users are rewarded in Steem (the cryptocurrency) for their work. It is up to users to decide how much the content is worth.

Travel blogging has become very competitive recently, as making a name for yourself takes alot of time, with no guarantee of making any money. Bloggers often need a massive social media following to start making money instantly. Furthermore, bloggers often have to shill products or have their blogs covered in a slew of ads to make money - gross!

With Travelfeed, users can start blogging quickly and easily. If you already have a Steem account then just login via Steemconnect and get started. If not you can sign up for a Steem account. There are many manual curators on the lookout for good content, and people who travel often have alot of great content and stories to share! Travelfeed has also received some generous delegations, and upvote content aswell.

Posting content is straightforward - just start creating content about you travel or adventures, and a few pictures (and captions) and then post! There is an option to share the location of your blog post aswell, so that a database of travel destinations is kept, making it easier for users to browse relevant blogs in the future through the search function. Also @steemitworldmap usually post blogs with a location on their map aswell - another way for your blog to get noticed!

All good travellers need coffee!

Dont worry if you dont "travel" - travel is a subjective term anyway. Remember you can be a traveler in your own country! You could share about your culture and food as it will give a unique and more meaningful insight that global travelers may not have. There is unique bunch of travel bloggers on Travelfeed all offering their own perspectives and insights into traveling the world.

Venice!

Although travel blogging may have exploded on the centralized platforms, it is still new to Steem, and thus an opportunity to get in early and share your travel stories. Sharing something about a trip to London or Hong Kong might be a good option now, but in a years time these major cities my be saturated on Travelfeed.

As a collective it is in our best interest to create the best content we can to bring more eyes to Travelfeed (and Steem) - we never know when one of our articles might go viral. Lets make Travelsteem to name people think of when they think of travel blogging!

By joining Travelfeed today you really have nothing to lose, and everything to gain!

Thank you so much for this writeup about TravelFeed. People actually approached us during Steemfest and at our meet-ups telling us that they would love to use our platform but that they're not traveling much. As you said, you don't have to even leave your own town or city to "travel" bloggers.

Your welcome! Its true that everyone has something unique to share about the world. Some might not be able to share 50 countries they have seen but still have a unique angle to share.

One thing I love about what @travelfeed is doing is quickly moving to a platform where they recognise the assymetry between creators and their supporters. Steem's default is a p2p model with only a small distinction between creators and curators.
