BLOOMING FANTASTIC.
Hubby and I recently bought a block of land in the countryside near the sea and I have been madly digging up my beautiful fruit trees from home to plant onto our new property. So far we've planted around 17 shrubs and fruit trees. I was really wanting to get my almond tree out of the ground during our winter and yes I did it. This tree was about 2 metres tall give or take a couple of centimetres and it was time to get it out as it had started to blossom. I'll be keeping this tree in a large planter for the next year and give it some loving and tender care to give it a good chance for when I do plant it on the property next winter. I had given the roots a trim so the tree would fit into the planter nice and snug and in the base of the planter I also added a lot of pebbles to way down the planter and most importantly give the almond tree good drainage. As you may notice on the video I've buried the planter into the ground by about a foot as this will help it from blowing over and also keep it cooler in the hotter months of the year. I had treated my Golden Delicious apple tree the same way and it survived beautifully so I have high hopes for my almond tree. Feel free to watch the video and subscribe to my channel, thank you.

oh wow I seen a video on youtube just like this one this morning from shesabotteler :D you even sound alike ;) fingers crossed the tree lives and you get somebody to video tape you transplanting to the new location :D thanks for sharing

That is the hard part of moving ..leaving all of the nurtured fruit and nut bearing trees behind....WHEN you took this picture it had so many blooms...My almond died...Florida may have been too hot...yours is gorgeous! Was that a lemon saw in the corner along with the orange...thought it would be too cold...

I adore your creative spirit and lovely garden. I bet you are so excited to get the new one going. I also have had good luck with partially burying a potted tree till able to plant it. It sure helps on keeping it from drying out and seems to be much less stressful on the tree. I'm looking forward to seeing you transition to your new land. How exciting!
Thank you, we've lived in our home 40 years now and the thought of moving is scary but once we start to build our new home I think we'll be ok.
I lived in my last home for 30 years and loved every moment of it, but it was time to move on. I lived in a small tent while building my forever home. Was that ever an adventure, lol.
One thing that I made sure to do, was build my house as if I were handicapped. The doors are all 36" wide, no steps, easy open door handles. Who knows what the future holds. All I know is if I ever end up in a wheel chair, I wanted my home as friendly to that as possible.
Sounds like an exciting adventure for sure and we're also making sure it's built for us if we need all of those extras to make life a little bit more comfy in our old age.
Nice piece of land! I tried planting a few tress and it has not proven successful yet, but I am learning and will keep trying.
Thanks, when I replanted the fruit trees into planters I lined the pots with bark and added a fair amount of greenery into the base then potted my trees into good rich soil mixed with homemade compost. This all helped to keep in the moisture and feed the plants. I had kept many of the trees in their planters for a few months over the hottest part of the year. Then in autumn and winter we planted the trees onto the property and now are hoping they get through the huge amount of rain as the property is very wet but should dry out soon.
