My Criminal Empire
Yep. I've got a drug empire.
I guess I'm one of the DRUGWARS OG's... I've been here since the very beginning (so many weeks ago).
I think it's time for a post with some of my reactions to the game so far. You won't find me spamming the blockchain with "Check out my Latest Battle!" posts, but that's just because...
I don't battle.
Here's the deal. Violence doesn't pay. If I was making an actual criminal empire, I would want there to be as little death as possible. I would want to run an effective business under the radar of my competitors.
But Chris, by posting this, you're putting yourself on everyone's radar!
Believe me, I've considered that. But I feel somewhat obligated to promote great gaming projects on the blockchain, so here I am, living dangerously.
I was just as eager for battling as anyone, but I buckled down, built up my army, upgraded my operation, and now I like where I'm sitting.
Gangs
No thank you. I'm gonna keep being a loner. Being part of a gang seems to earn you a bunch of enemies and generally encourage raiding, which I want no part of.
Money Stuff
Right away when I joined DRUGWARS, I spent about the same amount of money that I would spend on any game, which was about 150 STEEM ($35-40). In the first day, I paid for building upgrades with STEEM, and I haven't "paid" for a single upgrade since.
...And my Empire Keeps Growing
Seriously. I won't have to put any more STEEM into DRUGWARS ever again. Just my time, Drugs, Weapons and Alcohols. But that doesn't mean I won't be getting STEEM out of it.
At the moment, my daily STEEM payout is about .6 STEEM, which at a glance is nothing to get excited about. Sure, as the number of players grows, the number of players splitting the payout will also grow, causing payouts to go down over time.
But that's Not the Whole Picture
I will continue to spend all the resources I earn on upgrading my production, which will consistently increase my share just because I spent a little money up front. Even if I completely stop playing DRUGWARS right now, I will have made all my money back in about two months. I've already made back 2/3 of it.
What about Real Estate?
I can make permanent upgrades to my production buildings by spending resources, but I can also upgrade by spending STEEM.
Drugs, Weapons and Alcohol are great for some quick money, but every smart businessman knows that the most reliable investments are in real estate. So why is nobody talking about the value of that level 15 meth lab, or that level 6 pharmaceutical lab. If I had spent STEEM on those upgrades, they would have cost hundreds of dollars.
Suppose I create a successful, turnkey meth lab and decide to sell the whole thing for a profit. The game may not allow it yet, but my point is, I own those buildings, and they are the real money-makers. That's why I've been avoiding the Heist and making as many upgrades as I can.
About Complainers
They have made DRUGWARS pretty dang fair, for a game that's about drugs, crime and gang violence. I don't care about your piddly Not Enough Free Rewards whinings.
I wish people would just look on the bright side of things. Steem is teaching me that people who do (like me) are pretty rare. I love this game, I trust the developers, and I have absolutely no complaints. I mean, we're making money for playing games. That's the friggin' dream.
Don't Attack Me
I have a formidable army, and if you attack me, I will destroy you. Then I will recruit new guys and destroy you again and again until I have made the message clear that i don't want to be attacked. But don't worry, I will never come at you unless instigated.
Alright I won't attack you!
Hey I wanted to take a moment and tell you some things....I couldn't really 'talk to you' during your show....
First, steemnova does pay. 87% of the rewards from the daily blogs are distributed to members of the top 8 alliances. Which Is why I was inviting you to our alliance.
We are also keeping an eye on nextcolony, we will be prepared to dominate. Its also based on ogame, but seems a little different.... we have a discord and an upvote account.... we are cool....
Next, @darklands
I dont know how I didn't invite you earlier. Its a text based colony sim plus roleplaying, and we earn sizeable votes and sbi shares. Its really fun, so fun that we frequently vote each others comments and have a blast.
Ok, I'm off to murder some undead with my weapon, the @rolld20
;p
Thanks :)
I was aware of the top 8 alliances payout. Experience has shown me that post payouts never amount to that much. ;)
I'm really hoping they decide to kick it up a notch by adding purchases of instant upgrades with Steem and incentive to refer new players. While I'm trying to keep up with new games, I hope I don't lose interest in this one just because it doesn't offer enough rewards.
I'm also interested in Next Colony, but we'll have to wait and see what they've got in store. Should be good! :D I need to look into this Ogame that everyone's talking about... I'd never heard of it until recently. These types of games are totally new to me.
As far as Darklands, I don't know if I have the energy to do a text-based game. :) All my writing time should probably be devoted to Steem Monsters and sketches. Too much of anything else and I start to feel guilty lol
I will keep an eye on it :)
Great to hear back from you Chris! I know how it be to feel guilty doing one thing because you are not doing another....I think you are doing great work with steemmonsters - Keep it up!
These were just some thoughts I would have said to you in person, if I wasn't just listening to you on the radio! I am very tempted to bid on the next colony legendary planets, but I am a little nervous and want more information! The age of games is upon us, and I love it!
Cheers! And see you in June :)
Shake shake shake, you roll the 20-sided die.
You rolled a 19.
