Travel Suggestions?
Where to go, where to go..
My wife and I have been looking at traveling a bit but we can't decide on a place to go to. We want somewhere inexpensive but amazing to go to (a tall order, I know), I have a few ideas but it is difficult to choose one.
The problem I don't want to sit with when traveling somewhere is the language barrier. I want to be able to communicate something in plain English to someone. I have a friend that recently went to Germany and lost her passport, the people there refused to speak English to her because she was not from there. It was quite a struggle for her just to get it sorted, which wouldn't have been a problem if she spoke the language.
The options
England
At the moment we have the option to go with the in-laws to England in June next year. The problem is that it will be quite expensive, the Pound is one of the most expensive currencies to exchange for the South African Rand.
Mozambique
It seems to be quite affordable to go there, the South African Rand is widely accepted in the southern parts of Mozambique. Another plus point is that it is just north of South Africa so it won't be a long flight to get there. The beaches looks amazing and the places where you can stay looks great.
Bali
I don't really know a lot about Bali, I only had one friend that went there once and he seemed to like it a lot. According to him the food and accommodation was cheap and amazing and he said that he would recommend it to anyone. As far as I know there is no special visa required to visit Bali which will make the travel arrangements a lot easier.
It is not easy choosing where to go, especially when it is going to cost you a lot of money and you don't know if it is going to be worth it. I don't like going blindly into the unknown, a website can make anything look amazing when done right.
So if you can recommend any places that are not to expensive but worth the visit please leave a comment as to why and where you would recommend.
How about Greece? :)
The problem is that the South African Rand is at R14.70 per Euro, this means that everything is more expensive there.
Wow... We weren't aware of that exchange rate... Try New Zealand like @steemsausage has suggested then, maybe the rate is better...
In either case, have you heard of Revolut app? Easily one of the best apps for traveling and their exchange rate a UX is just amazing! ;)
I will have a look at it thanks :)
Bellville?
Meh at best.. You go for the people but stay because your tires got stolen..
@travelingstories Hi, I wondered if either of these places would be good for you. I hope this is not considered the wrong thing to do... the posts have been paid out, so its not like i am promoting! I have another one but it is current, but also relative to your question if you feel like checking it out! Best of luck deciding on a holiday destination. I hope this is of some help to you.
If you were to choose hamilton Island as a destination, then my current post would be of some interest to you also. I will leave that up to you to explore!
The South Island of New Zealand is one of the most gorgeous places i have seen. Its not overly expensive and the camper van option takes the accomodation out of it...(well almost). Hamilton Island is very cool, i work there every week day, and neighbouring Airlie Beach on the mainland a big destination too. It is the gate way to the barrier reef too !
I have been to Bali, and whilst i liked it, it is kind of an assault with people trying to sell you things. On both occasions I have been there i have been robbed. I have great contacts for villa’s there if you need, but to be honest, i found it to be quite dirty and coming from australia, I dont really rate their beaches. Dont get me wrong, I had fun. It is cheap, and I suppose the bonus for me is that the flights to and from australia not expensive either. Bare that in mind if you wanted to pop over to australia too.
Have a great holiday what ever you decide to do!

Thanks for the reply, New Zealand looks quite nice. As far as I know my wife has some family there so that can help a bit. I have also read that the traders are quite pesky in Bali.
What about Thailand it seems to be a good place to go to?
My brother and his wife went there so we would like to try a different place.
Ok. No problemo.
Belize speaks english and can be cheap. on the islands off of Honduras they speak english too. Utila is known to be affordable. bali is a good spot...but after flight..not sure how cheap it is anymore....
good luck finding it....travel at whatever cost tends to be rewarding.
