Classic Alaskan Cabins
Located high in the mountains but very close to the town of Palmer, sits a group of classic Alaskan cabins.
You can rent these cabins year round and they are located next to the Hatcher Pass lodge, a place that offers a warm fire and great food. If you're looking for an authentic Alaskan experience, this is a great place to start. The cabins are surrounded by towering peaks that are completely open for exploration. Hatcher Pass was originally created by gold miners in an effort to reach the gold deposits high in the mountains. There is still a mine you can visit, although it isn't operational. This pass is a favorite spot for snowboarding and sledding in the winter. The long days of summer offer the opportunity to backpack for days in the alpine. I've spent countless days here in the summer climbing through fields of flowers and around pristine lakes. Although just 12 miles from town, it feels like a completely different world.
Thanks for reading! Let me know if these cabins are on your bucket list ;)
