Why Steemit will disrup social media and gain market share

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

I recently came across  a very good bloggers post @stellabelle which she indicated ( last year ) that Steemit is on the verge of disrupting social media . Fast forward today , I think that she is absolutely correct -especially after the successful HFORK . Most people that have not joined this amazing platform either do not know  about it or are ignorant to believe that Facebook et al are sucking them dry like vampire without giving them a fair share of their time and contents online. In addition to my former post on this subject ,  steemit has seen drastic growth in recent days as reported by @penguinpablo and @stephenkendal,  which shows a  positive  upward trajectory -this argument is supported by  steemit  Alexa ranking and consistent growth in market share.  All these factors including paying members in steem for their post , upvotes and comments shows that steemit is far better than any other social media platform and therefore,  it is only a matter of time that people will recognise that steem is highly undervalued-which will result in steem price spike and big gains to those of us who based their strategy on powering up.

 Some points to note

Ned Scott and Dan Larimer founded Steemit last year. Ned has a background in private equity and Dan is a crypto  expert, and a founder of BitShares another very good crypto to explore. The duo co-founded Steemit, a bitcoin-inspired social network that rewards those who sign up with cryptocurrency : By commenting on people posts ,  authoring articles, or “upvoting” other people’s content, Steemit users can gain “Steem Power” and  steem dollars which can be converted to cash.

Moreover, since joining steemit few weeks ago, I have seen drastic success, however this does not come easy as it entails lot of hardwork, dedication, strategic alliances and being real. Successful steemians , for example, @sweetsssj  , @timsaid  , @jerrybanfield , @dan , @twinner , @good-karma and @trafalgar (to mention only few) did not see great success on day one rather they were consistent in their hardwork, true to their readers via good contents and most importantly , they invested time and money in steem and steemit-  all these strategy led to their consistent success on daily basis.

Why Rich and Broke people need to join steemit

Unlike  other social media, steemit does not discriminate rather it is based on good contents , hard work , building relationship and having a good strategy on how and when  to upvote , comment  (Please stop F4F comments) and good communication with fellow members via comments or steem chat. In fact you can start steemit without a dime and work your way up and gain financial freedom- which other social media platforms can not offer. Therefore , steemit is perfect for developing  and developed economies citizens - the only thing required  is internet , faith  and ability to work hard.

Good. Very good points; I see the same myself.
About a week after I found steemit, I invested pretty heavy..

It had the things I was looking for in my next crypto currency investment.
I could easily tell people why I was excited by the steem token, and the services steemit was providing to its users.

They each had a great feature set, such that when combined, and considering the level of invovlement in it's development, it seemed like a no brainer. I would actually rather be wrong, and pull out later, than wait to dive in.. usually a better investing strategy for me, in many years of hindsight.

I'm a tough crowd, so if you get past my filters, I should buy.

wow, very good comment and we share the same love for steem and steemit...lets stay in touch.
Following you buddy

Nice post @charles1. In my opinion there are currently only 5 options to become a successful steemian:

Either

  • be prominent outside steemit and have a lot of followers
  • have connections to the whales
  • buy a lot of steem
  • be a nice looking woman

OR

  • write regularly and with high quality, no matter how high the payouts are.

You nailed it! And if you're not in the top 4 group, then you better work your ass off and come up with some clever marketing ideas.

I have to go with option 5:

write regularly and with high quality, no matter how high the payouts are.

Although I would rephrase it "no matter how low the payouts are. Regular, high quality posts are the way to go for Papa! Thanks for pointing this out!

Haha the same here, good one. I will add optin 3 to it isnt it?however gradually

It is the right way to go....but plenty of people are finding other ways to be successful. Gotta have that marketing game.

I agree...good point

@twinner
Your points are very germane as such i am following you to tap more from your wealth of knowledge...
that reminds me, i sent a new post yesterday related to superior brain power? my next articles shall be superior comments... am about to publish a post that will guide minnows and with your permission shall reference this comment while acknowledging its creator;)

Lol , @twinner haha you are 100% correct. Unfortunately, I am a man so being a good looking woman and having connection with the whales (makeing love to whales) is out of line. I am not a prominent Youtuber like Jerry et al, again that one is out. So it remains buying steem daily and powering up plus posting good contents even though I earn low payout , I will gradually see increase. Thanks for your advise, and support, bless you.

very excellent post @charles1 quite informative.... keep it up
Steemit gradually is taking over. I have been a social media guy much of when i knew the internet and it has succeeded in making me poorer especially all energy and time invested on facebook page educating people on health with nothing to show for it...more so trying to monetize my blogging abilities through google adsence...however since i joined steemit, i have realised that being social can be beneficial which was before now unthinkable. @dan & @ned did very well for such by creating such platform for everyone to benefit fro m. But ofcourse, there are those who will benefit more and those who will watch others on the sideline and cry foul...
thanks once more for this post...upvoted as always...

Welcome , good comment. Upvoted

thanks as always

@elewarne
read your report of not being able to post on steemit...i had an issue myself of my post vanishing after confirming it in the new post section...i think its not about censorship nor political views, i trust steemit is open for all views....might be a bug issue...if all modalities are perfect from yoor side...did you reach support or try steem.chat and ask some informed guys st the general section...
keep me updated...
love your blog...

Good point

thanks ma'am as always...

i hold steem dollars and steem also my friend :)
but not only..

Great, I agree

Wow, bless you...lets stay in touch

A great summary, @charles1. You've gotten to the essence of why this could become the great equalizer when all the Pikettys of the world can only point out that we're not equal and the world ain't fair. Steemit does something practical not only to even the playing field, but to completely change the game and how we look at value. A terrific post, and I'm looking forward to reading more of your insights.

You are welcome my buddy, we will surely stay in touch. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks and bless you
