New UBI voting schedule, 19-2-2018
Didn't post yesterday, didn't feel like there was too much to add. Have been thinking about some things though!
Realized it was inefficient to vote for everyone all at once, I'm going to start voting throughout the day to maximize the voting power. Also going to vote for everyone with a bit higher % for now. Don't have much else to add, I'm happy that a few more people are interested in joining, and there's enough gas in the tank to keep increasing the delegated amount and the raw SP growing over time for about... a year? At this rate, anyway.
And I'd ideally want the voting power to increase in a raw dollar amount even if prices fall, which is why I've kept funds in reserve. If steem/SBD go back below the $3 dollar range and there's a bounce that sets in I'm definitely doubling the delegation to at least 1000 sp for at least a month, if it totally craters I'm probably going to go all-in over 3 or so purchases of SP and leases, time dependent on the speed of the fall and what's going on at the time.
Oh, and always, just ask to be added, don't spam, scam, or shill, and you're in! You'll get a daily vote from me, it really is that simple. UBI isn't supposed to be complex! :p
Wow, that sounds scammy, who would do something like that? Well, lots of generous voters so far have ensured that this free UBI isn't going away anytime soon, as they've really set this account off to a great start with some huge series of votes! The least I could do was actually endeavor to do what I set out to do from the start and give back to a community that has been more than welcoming to me. Thanks for your support everyone, wouldn't be possible without you.
I'm going to start voting on these posts with minnowbooster for visibility, hopefully no one ends up objecting to that. I'll wait a while before I do, that way it helps out your curation reward more if the bid comes in after you've voted. I'm not an expert on how voting and curation works, but I believe it's most beneficial for you if you vote after 30 minutes and before I vote with the bot.

Doesn't seem like a scam, spam, or shilling to me! I'll vote when my voting power recovers a bit. I see that you're both into marine science, I hope more money goes into the public side of the equation there. We need smart dedicated people helping to figure out how to best protect our oceans.
Thank you for the suggestion, I've added you both to the UBI. As much as I love to occasionally trash-talk steemit I noticed that we trend pretty well in search results, so having a low view count here might not matter so much if articles still show up in queries down the road.
Personally, if I were you and I was looking for some SBD's I would keep cranking out #steemstem articles and keep on educating the general public on our oceans and how we can help them. Or you could collaborate on articles and split the bounty. Who knows, maybe you each have strong suits, teams often do.
I plan on becoming a marine engineer specializing in conservation.
I'm currently working on 3 different #steemstem articles. It's just hard to get the time to work on them while doing research for classes as well.

What is this ubi, thing can you link me to your orignal blog about it, hard to find it. I appreciate the kind words before. That situation really freaked me out and yeah. My beliefs sometimes do come off really preachy. But even when im in a local shop here in vernon, this last week ive had the confidence to be like hey have you heard about steemit? I explain it as politely and engagingly as i can and now i have been writing down my username with the steemit url when i share it in real life. Its exciting. I hope i write posts good enough gor them to be like hey if e can do this. Maybe i can too. Haha much love! Thanks again.

They have every right to be concerned about privacy, but I was honestly a bit pissed off at his tone at all of us steemit noobs, as if our lack of larger stakes meant we were idiots without valid points or something. And it's ridiculous to think that anything could be made private, unless we made steem itself a private blockchain, which would make it self-defeating for the intended purposes of steem, so you weren't wrong when you were pointing out the things you were saying.
You mentioned that you were telling people irl about steemit, I wrote about this in response to a contest that just got announced on inviting people here, but basically because we don't have stake and if we're looking to earn without investing then it's in our best interests to actually not tell anyone steemit for now. We're competing against others for a fixed reward pool, and as newcomers we're hoping to get votes from people with large stakes, and they can only vote so much, and there's only so much to share. Only someone who is looking to cash out would benefit from a lot of new people entering and providing a price floor for when they wanted to sell, which is basically any reasonable person's goal, that or a constant elevated floor for steem to remain high and there to be buyers of the SBD their content is producing.
You, as an individual, could lobby for support on steemit to reward your efforts to recruit new users, which is the main reason why people do so, I suspect. That or they don't realize that other new users are simply competition for the pie they're all trying to eat. Hence the whole promo-steem deal and other ventures to recruit new users.
Not to be a downer, it'd be great in the long-run if the site grows organically, and I do wish you well in your writing endeavors. Also, I don't want to psycho-analyze you too much, but it might do you a bit of good if you thought more of yourself and gave less of a flying fuck what others have to say about you. Most people don't flag on simple disagreements because it's socially shunned, and even if you do get flagged persistently out of existence you can just create a new account. I'm not saying you should ever need to go full-retard like I have in the past, but yeah, don't sweat it if your argument stands on solid ground.

Keep in mind that the prices might not stay this high, they've only been high after being added to one Korean exchange on November 22nd. Buying computer equipment wouldn't be a total loss or a loss at all because it has productive value in itself, so I wouldn't worry too much about that purchase because you can obviously use it for so many other things as well as doing steemit on the side.
That's great to hear. You'll go far with that attitude. Temporary setbacks are just that, temporary. I think things would improve for the better, if I didn't, I wouldn't be doing this small project, hehe.

You can read their pinned info, they take requests to help you with your writing if you ever need editing help or other types of suggestions, they're also pretty cool.
I have a discord channel but it's pretty dead right now, I should start shilling it more because I wanted to focus on, well, just friends who wanted to drop the bs and just talk, and have a psych focus/help of last resort sub-channel in there as well.
Personally I think unless our countries ban crypto and shoot crypto holders on sight in coming years we can always have steemit as at least a side hustle even if prices are low, that way we're still involved and can benefit when prices recover again, similar to how it was during the lows before these recent price spikes. People with small wallets who got out of steemit completely during the lows really missed out if they didn't consider it worth their time at the time.
