Promises written on the sands
Flimsy as the material it is written on
A wave is all it takes, now it is gone

what is the use of hollow words?
Words no different to empty air
Promises written on the sands

Do you hear the rumbling sound?
That's the sound of a promise crumbling
A wave is all it takes, now it is gone

See the tears flowing like a waterfall
See the disappointment painting those eyes
Because of promises written on the sands

Are all promises worthless these days?
So fragile it's almost laughable...
A wave is all it takes, now it is gone

*Why can it not be engraved in stone?
Surely, it will last till the end of time?
Better than promises written on the sands
A wave is all it takes, now it is gone
