"Escapism Is Hell"

Looking at the mirror
I saw an illusion of myself
Staring at those empty eyes
I saw the darkness within

Is this the real me?
Is it not an illusion I see?
What about my reality?
Everything seemed like a fantasy

Lost in the fog of misery
Escaping a hopeless reality
Life without integrity
Is but a life of travesty

Society pushing me to the edge
Life: is it but a stage?
Desperate wanting for release
Escape is like the only bliss

But then painful reality hit
Escape is actually a pit
Hiding behind a shell
Is no different from hell
