Memories from Prague trip

Prague offers breathtakingly beautiful architecture, many beer breweries, hearty home cooking, cozy cafes, clubs and plenty of shopping opportunities. It is definitely worth getting to know the capital of the Czech Republic better. My girlfriend and I were in Prague for a week and we were greeted with blue skies and sunshine.

Of course, we have informed ourselves in advance and have gone through all the tourist attractions. For someone like me visiting this city for the first time, it was necessary to get a first impression of the city and its people.

I have to say that Prague is touristy in the spring, but still quite tolerable. I've heard from many people that in the summer it's completely different: quite full! So full you can't get a reasonable picture of a building.

We settled in Hotel Leonardo , in a nice and cozy Junior apartment. The hotel is located in the center of Vltava so we can walk to almost everything in the city. But Prague also has a metro with a total of three lines and a well-developed tram system. Tickets can be obtained from machines, tobacconists, newsagents or hotels. You can travel carefree with all public transport and a day ticket for 110, - Kč, equivalent to approximately 4, - Euro.

It is incredibly pleasant to explore the city on foot, because there are so many small narrow streets that give the impression that time has stopped there. It gets very cozy, especially in the evening. The entire city is enveloped in golden light. The bridges, houses, river and narrow passages look even more impressive in this golden light. Prague is also known as the city of gold, Golden Praha. I now know why. This name was given to the Czech capital because the many church towers and historic domed buildings are gilded and cast a beautiful golden glow over the whole city in the setting evening sun and in the lantern light. I could walk for hours in this light because the atmosphere is very romantic.

We came across an art installation with many books that illustrated optical illusion. We took some photos as a keepsake.
