This morning my phone begun going off at 10:00 am and honestly I wasnt awake enough to want ti answer it but regardless I suspected it could have been a close friend of mine in New York someone I was looking forward to talking too... So I rolled over answered it and it was the hospital they had blantly spit out the following, " Mr. Carter? " , I said Yes? We need you to come in and identify someone by the name of Chris Carter.. So I jumped up threw on pants and a shirt hauled ass up to the local hospital. Moments after walking in I found myself in tears.. Real fucking tears I identified the man alright he was my uncle though hes a drug addict I did and do love the man as a child he would show up at the most random of times and protect me, from things like an abusive meth crazed step father who enjoyed using me and my brothers as his personal punching, or neigborhood punks that figured they could mess with me because of my skin color people knew when my uncle showed up and if you fucked with his nephew there is an excellect chance the guy will throw gasoline on your car or house and toss a lighter on it I mean were talking about an Ex-Ranger from the US Army who only cared about his family to the point of not caring what the outcome would be if you fucked with his family...

My uncle would always tell me to stand my ground, and dont worry i will always fight for you, and I will always be here for you. Years later he and I were still close ypu see my uncle had been in and out of jail since he had left the Army he probably spent a total of 12 years altogether in prison such as Clinton Max, Kentucky state, Texas, missouri and god knows where else he had gotten the drug bite when he served in vietnam.. Pain killers and heroin and that bite had pulled him in, so fast and hard no one could stop it or so I thought. The first time my uncle met my son Logan
Something happened to him he and my son developed this bond similar to what he and I had when I was growing Logan actually changed the guy he stepped back and wanted to be a better uncle. This caught me off guard well it turns out he stopped and he did for three years all over his newphew but that bite came back with a vengence after those threes he fell apart even now sitting here Im not sure what happened but this morning 7:08am he was found in my old neighborhood with a needle in his arm bent over.
This goes out to anyone who can relate Im truly sorry youve experienced this pain, I now know it better than before keep your head up and just know life will improve I promise. Stay safe everyone
