I was on my way to the subway when I met this view!
I quickly realized that there would not be any subway for a while so I decided to take some pictures and see what had happened.
There is a small river running under the subway tracks and it is usually very calm and peaceful but now it was running wild because of the heavy rain that have been pouring down for days now. I walked up the river and took this picture of the water flowing over the riverbanks.
Dangerous photography!
Here you can see the river coming out into the subway area. It usually runs in a pipe under the ground but now the pipe seems to have broken from the water pressure. Stones and debris are everywhere. I literally risked my life trying to catch this picture, I was balancing on the stone edge along the fence when I suddenly felt the stones moving under my feet. I quickly jumped back and I could see the stones moving. They are barely holding up!
The damage
As far as I could see there was severe damage to the entire area, the tracks where completely covered in rocks at some places and the river had broken down the stone walls separating it from the subway area.
The electric wires were hanging loose everywhere. There will be a lot of work before this subway stop (makrellbekken) can be used again.
Here you can see the river coming out from the pipe on the other side. The amounts of water is insane!
Looks like I will have to take the bus for some weeks!
Hope everyone is ok and stay safe.
I do not think anyone got hurt, but there was actually an ambulance there and a police car, so maybe something happened, but I do not know for sure.
I see in poor condition, it needs to be fixed by the government
Yes there was already workers arriving at the site when I was still there, I hope they will be quick! I need the subway :D
hopefully quickly resolved
