Camay: The Frustrated Money Blogger

 

Hi everyone! I'm Camay, a 25 year old Filipino mechanical engineer/photographer/frustrated blogger. Sounds like a cool girl right? But no, I am not that kind of girl. 

I'm currently working as an energy trader in Manila, Philippines and during my rest days I work as an event photographer. But my blog will not talk about on the effects of increasing the power block flexibility of a parabolic trough design on Solar Thermal Power Plant or how competitive is the playing field of electricity spot market in the Philippines. Instead, I will be discussing budgeting, finance, and investment in a cool and artsy way! Because most people hate that "money" topic.   

To know me better, here are my five fun facts about myself:

1. My name comes from a brand of scented body soap namely, Camay, that was first introduced in 1962. Today, you can only buy that soap in eBay and Amazon.

2. I am a huge fan of the 80's music, fashion, and chick flick movies! Come on. Who doesn't love Molly Ringwald?! And it is very nostalgic whenever I see Ferris drive the Ferrari 250 GT California in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (I feel like I'm an old soul trapped in a twenty-five-year old body). 

3. I never been out of the country and it is on the top of my bucket list to finally see the beauty of City of Light, Paris, France! 

4. It is my frustration to write a blog about money because for me saving is an art. And saving requires skills and patience just like painting right? 

5. If I have to choose between partying and reading books, I will choose to read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini with a hot chocolate at my side.
