The Sonnet of The Sunflower

How she blooms her heartache in slow motion
As the sun chases his way ‘cross the sky
She is devotion and adoration
As the light she longs for passes her by

Mornings sweet hope blossoms across her face
She waits for him from each lonely sunrise
Each day is spent turning towards his place
She dreams at night of his rose blushed demise

But the sun would never love a flower
As much as she may hope one day he might
So she values every single bright hour
That she can bask in his warming sunlight

She is never enough this she should know
Yet his is the light that she needs to grow

This is my second attempt at a sonnet, there is a lot to bear in mind when writing them. I feel like I have maybe got the metaphor a bit better on this, but I know this still isn't perfect
