...... Homestead New Mexico.....
How I survived 110° no water
.............20 below no gas..........

This is going to be a pictorial more than a blog post of normal take. I have never really introduced myself and so today I'm going to introduce myself is very nice to meet you my name is Justin amacker and you guys may recognize me more by my call name "Brudder J don't play "

So quick recap. I grew up in the District of Columbia Washington DC the home of the politics does and the drug dealers and The Jug fiends .... yep also the land of hard-working government employees "Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers" "Rare Essence " "Junkyard Band" "little Benny and the Masters" & not to mention my Old Stage partner " DJ Flex " & his cousin " DJ 20/20 " from the East side back in the day & Go~Go music as a whole enough love to Chocolate City

The " Real Hood Tigger's know what I'm talking about "

So how did I go from slinging trees and guns on the Block in Northeast DC ( 10th and C street...to be precise )
to homesteading in New Mexico...

Well that's an interesting story son... let me tell you about it...

fast forward to the really important part of my motivation...

IMG_20170926_192418.jpg

that's my son Elijah

Elijah is 17 years old now and about to go to college he's talking about being a film director.
Going to San Diego so, okay. that's cool. I love my baby boy he's not a carbon copy of me. he thinks for himself.

I also love my baby boy enough to know that I wasn't able to do much of anything with the nine-to-five Just Over Broke J. O. B.
One day I was online and I happen to have a little bit of money that I hustled up (about 30 grand) and I saw this as on a website called
" bid4assets.com " where they sell Raw land tax defaults and bank foreclosures with structures Etc also gold and silver coins collectors items things like that.

But what I was interested in was the raw land because I know that the start of all wealth comes from owning land.
When you own land you can build a structure on it whether it's a home or business.
When you own land you can grow food to eat or for sales.
When you own land you can reap the raw mineral assets from the land such as gold silver even oil & water ~ things of that nature.

When you rent an apartment and you work a J. O. B.
~ you can lie to yourself ~
and think you got something cuz you got a hundred dollar pair of Jordans on your feet or you drive a fly Lexus or Benz
~ but you really don't own shit ~

That's the truth... And I knew the truth...
I'm determined that when I leave this world my son will have something for real not just in his social mindset. I'm determined that when I leave this world never will a generation of my descendants have to worry about having a roof over their head or place called home again.

No matter where they live on the face of this Earth they will always have a home right here in New Mexico and they'll always have a roof over their head and they'll have a coat of arms that means something because that coat of arms is attached to this land.

As I write this the wind is blowing past my windows at about 60 miles an hour and there are clouds collect it on top of Mount monzano range that looks like frosting on a cake.

the temperature right now is about 50 degrees. It is already dropped almost 30 degrees since 2pm this afternoon and it'll probably get down into the 30s tonight...
But that's how it is on my Homestead... you only get about a one month transition from over 100 degrees in the afternoon to below 30 degrees at night. There really is no such thing as spring and fall only summer and winter.

IMG_20170926_181848.jpg

When I first got here I didn't have a car because I stayed in Albuquerque for 2 months before coming down to my Homestead and while I was living in Albuquerque my car got impounded and of course I did not have enough money to get it out of impound. Because of that I had to ride a bike from Highway 47 to my Homestead which is roughly 12 miles on a dirt Rocky Mountain Road.
It's a good thing that I do have a car now because I have a free range cattle rancher who is doing everything he possibly can to try to force me off of my land... last August he bought all of the land running along the cattle fence south of my property which had two gates going directly to 47 and he has Barb wired off those Gates and because he has property ownership opposite the fence the sheriff says I cannot have access through those Gates any longer. So now I have to go 30 miles down a Rocky Mountain Road and then 20 miles down Highway 47 to get to Belen which is the nearest town to my Homestead.
But that's just one of the adversities out here in the desert of New Mexico and really it's the most insignificant one. I don't pay much attention to haters cuz everywhere you go there will be plenty of haters and you can't waste your energy on them.
In addition to haters I also have rattlesnakes, coyotes, black bears, grizzly bears, mountain lions and cows.
You may not know this as a city slicker but cows eat everything they see... and if they don't eat it they'll trample it and if they don't trample it they'll try to scratch bugs off of them self's and tear it down. Cows are incredibly destructive. the only time I like a cow is when he's a hamburger on a hamburger bun and that's real talk.

But getting back to the topic at hand... let's talk about how I survive scorching heat with almost no water in freezing bitter cold with no furnace

IMG_20170926_181711.jpg

I have a wood stove. In addition to the wood stove I have several propane grills.

IMG_20170926_182516.jpg

In addition to the wood stove and propane grills I have a half a kilowatt of solar power

IMG_20170920_191301.jpg

and an inverter and a charge controller.

IMG_20170926_182523.jpg

I have a swamp cooler if you live on the east coast you have no idea what that is.

IMG_20170926_182607.jpg

Basically a swamp cooler is like an air conditioner except it uses less energy than a fan and it cools your place down by blowing forced air through a wet pad when the air passes through the fibers of the wet pad it is cooled down it works on the same principle that causes the air temperature to drop when a rainstorm comes in

I also have good company I have 3 pets all cats a female name smokels aka " Smokel butt " when she's being bad.

IMG_20170926_182601.jpg

an older male named spare Kitty aka " good boy " because he is...

IMG_20170926_182555.jpg

and I have a new addition to the house his name is Geronimo because he is a
suicidal psycho~ Kitty

IMG_20170926_182624.jpg

in my spare time I like to pretend to do some gold prospecting. I say pretend because I seem to have picked the only property in all of the state of New Mexico that just doesn't have any freaking gold.

IMG_20170926_182316.jpg

I can say this because when I mean going country ( such as "Elizabeth Town" north of Santa Fe in Northern New Mexico )I can get some gold... but they ain't no go around here.
I've checked every Arroyo and Dry Creek bed for twenty miles up and down 30 miles of the Manzano range and the best gold you're going to find around here is in the 150 - 200 mesh range.
You make more money flipping burgers at McDonald's on garnished wages.

so my kitties have decided to pile on top of me and use me for heated furniture and I guess it's time to call it a day at the homestead.

I hope you found this little story to be insightful inspirational motivational and useful and if so then I hope that you will
