My Prize Vegetables
I have a burning desire to show off my vegetables. Despite drought and excessive heat, I managed to produce some nice ones. In the old days, and still in certain regions, we used to be able to drag our fancy produce to the fair to show them off to the entire community. I wish those days were back.
So anyway: look at my vegetables!!
I dragged these pretty pumpkins up to my front porch. It wasn't the best year for pumpkins, but it wasn't the worst, either.
I am so proud of this red bell pepper. In a cold climate like mine, it is very difficult to get peppers to mature in time.
I managed to get a LOT of these Anaheim peppers. They will go red if given enough time, but I just didn't have enough time.
I am very pleased with how well the heirloom tomatoes have grown.
Just one slice will cover your sandwich.

This yellow oxheart variety is mild tasting and delicious.
Be impressed with with my giant carrot. I picked this one weeks ago and the ones I still need to pick are even bigger.
For the record, I use manure and organic seaweed/fish fertilizers only.

Oxheart, heirloom varieties look quite unusual to me.
You are lucky to have the land for farming (much hard work but still this is great).
I have bird's eye chilli peppers from a pot this year, from time to time. I eat them right from the bush and never enough :)
I encourage you to grow some tomatoes in a pot. The patio type would do very well for you, I think. Don't be afraid to try to grow inside during the Winter. I mean, we can't go anywhere anyway. :-(
Not a bad idea, turn your house into a greenhouse, with potted plants!

You're making me Hungry! Great job outrunning the frost, and beating the drought. I have never managed a carrot that big, now I have something to shoot for!
