As I posted earlier today, Bitcoin isn't doing anything unusual right now, as with the rest of the market. The trend and the auto-fib indicator are suggesting that Bitcoin could dip as low as ~$8400 $USD, but that remains to be seen. It would be a good buy-in price, but I'm not giving any financial advice here, and This is certainly nothing to be worried about; the market really needs a cooling off period.

Today Bitcoin's Marketshare was 34.61%, virtually the same as yesterday. Steem also saw a near flat line in marketshare at 0.220%, and remaining in #31 spot on Coinmarketcap.com

Today Bitcoin's Price hit a high of $11,633, a low of $10,240, and an average of $10,937. This marks a continued cooling off of the market as it searches for it's new floor.

Today's Bitcoin transactions totaled a volume of $10,537,400,000 US Dollars, an increase over yesterday.

The average Bitcoin transaction fee decreased by a large amount, averaging $14.38 USD per transaction today.

The average number of new transactions being added every second to Bitcoin's mempool was 2.994 today.

The percentage of Bitcoin transactions using Segwit addresses hit a peak today of 12.23%.
chart (5).png

There were 258,682 new Bitcoin transactions added to the mempool today.

Today there were 54,113 new transactions left unconfirmed by end of day. As per blockchain.info there were still ~87,000 total unconfirmed transactions awaiting confirmation in the mempool by end of day, with ~33,000 of those being stale transactions that may be stuck in the mempool.

The average block contained 1.08 Megabytes of transaction data today.

Article Spotlight: GAME'S UP? Panicky Bitcoin investors struggle to withdraw cash from money exchanges as they look to ‘safe’ gold investments amid fears of cryptocurrency collapse

At the top of Google search today is an article both riddled with FUD and the laziest copy-pasting of yesterday's news I've seen in a while. I feel almost dirty for posting this article, especially because it comes from a newspaper called "The Sun." It is a UK based newspaper, so maybe I'm being unfair. Maybe it's not like the low brow trash we get in the Toronto Sun newspaper where I'm from in Canada.

Of course, once I read the whole thing, I take back what I said about being unfair.

First off, the headline doesn't even make sense, at least to those of us who've been through a few cycles of the crypto market. It reads like one of those youtube pessimism porn channels that always tells you to invest in gold before the apocalypse happens.

Yes, Gold is a good investment, as long as your government isn't the type to confiscate it during a bad recession, and as long as you are buying actual physical gold you can hold in your hands. Just ask people in 2008 who owned "gold" that was "stored" by companies that went bankrupt.

But why Bitcoin investors would be running to buy gold with the money they don't have because they are apparently struggling to "get their cash out" of the cryptocurrency market... I dunno, sounds like someone at the UK Sun should stop sniffing glue.

The writer then spins their head around a complete 360 degrees like in the exorcist movie, and starts talking about BitConnect (a completely unrelated topic) as though Bitcoin and BitConnect are one and the same thing; as if BitConnect was the Bitcoin Market. smh

They continue by saying that panicked investors are handing over their crypto wallets to scammers pretending to be BitConnect customer support. Okay, I can buy that story. People who were myopic enough to invest in BitConnect in the first place are going to be easy prey for scammers; like, shooting fish in a barrel easy. If you are reading this and are one of those people who got scammed by BitConnect, accept that it was a scam and quit pretending it was treated unfairly and wasn't given a chance.

Anyway, the article then quotes the Wall Street lackey Peter Boockvar from yesterdays news, where he exclaims with no proof that Bitcoin will crash by 90% of it's value. You know someone is talking out of their arse when what they say stinks.

One thing is clear, this Sun article was either put together by cutting and pasting multiple old stories and pretending it is current news, or the writer and editor are both huffing some high octane gasoline. Or as they call it there, Petrol.

Video Spotlight corbettreport - The Bitcoin Psyop

I highly recommend watching this video, because it underlines why government and banking officials seem to contradict themselves with statements about "blockchain" and "Bitcoin," and confusing listeners.

Wow!! Very informative post. I have question. As I don't know more details about cryptocurrency. What about Liza coins?

thank you for the post you are my god

hello friend kind time,to you twenty-four hours, you wrote an excellent post as usual, I like your the collection of information

you are right man BTC is not doing anything new its the same thing which we have seen earlier.

Good matching of information

Not rising seems that it might be a good time to invest in bitcoin 🙂

nice post

Don't you just love those articles with mile long names? 😛

Kinda off topic, but what's your method of finding good content to upvote on Steemfollower? Browsing by new posts seems to bring up a bit of spam (though I enjoyed reporting the guy with 20+ accounts to Steemcleaners.)

I sometimes just keep hitting F5 to bring up new articles if there's a lot of junk or @cheetah flags. I mostly upvote posts that are clearly original content, like people taking pictures of their family or on a trip, or their pets, or people doing video blogs. Everyday the creator of the sight puts a post up that is highlighted in gold, I usually upvote it just to help cover his expenses.

I generally find Photography posts are really easy because you can expand their post, right-click their photo and use the "search google for image" feature to see if they stole the picture (if using google chrome).

A lot of times I'll go into the new user section where someone has a couple cents worth of voting built up, and surprise them with a full upvote, but I try to make sure its not garbage content either.

Yeah lol, It's like shooting fish in a barrel on that sight for finding spammers and plagiarizers, but I get a lot more upvotes than I ever used to and a lot more exposure, so its a great addition to steemit I think.

I'll have to try that trick out in Chrome sometime. I'll probably end up going on a reporting spree but hey, Steemcleaners gives you a small SP reward. 😀 I just wish I knew how to build an extension that would autofill most of the report form from the page you are on.

Thanks for letting me know 'bout the site. Haven't got any votes from it yet, but hopefully my points will get large enough eventually.

yeah, if you build up enough points, you can change your visibility by going 2x, or even 3x if you're really desperate. I usually just leave mine on 2x if I've built up a lot of points. the posts that have a star and a number in the star are those posts people are boosting for visibility. At first I thought they were spam or something, but it's not.

Yeah, i think there are some auto-fill extensions for different browsers. I know by default with chrome it will give you a dropdown of all your previous responses, so the form can be half-filled easily.
