"When a Stroke Changes Everything Everything And The World Stands Still"... Exactly 5 Years Ago Today!
Today is May 15, 2017 and a day filled with emotion for me on so many levels. As some of you know and have read from my posts, my father suffered a major stroke on May 15, 2012. To get the complete stories in context, I will include links from my previous blog posts on the entire story that you can find at the bottom of the page...
But it's just interesting how a moment in time can cause there to be a fork in the road in terms on the pathway of your life. It can change everything! When I saw the helicopter lifting on off the ground and taking my dad to hospital, I knew that things will change for all of us in a dramatic way!
I can honestly say that even though trials and circumstances may change your life for the negative, it can also do so for the positive. Times have been hard and caregiving has not been easy for me, my mom or sister...
But I can also say that these past 5 years have caused us all to become more thankful for the little things. I've also come to the full realization that life is extremely precious and that we should not take the days God gives us for granted.
I am reminded of a passage of Scripture that gives me assurance when it comes to what happened on that day and also about what the future holds. Here's what it says, "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive." Genesis 50:20 (KJV) public domain
Life may have thrown us a major curve ball on that difficult day, but I chosen to take that day and grow from the experiences I have had over these years. Though my dad still has a long road ahead, I am still thankful for the progress that he has made and am hopeful for a bright future ahead.
Writing this today was beneficial for me because I needed this outlet to share my feelings and thanks to you all in the Steemit world for being great bunch of people!

Thank you first of all for sharing this experience.
I don't believe in coincidence, but I do believe there is a reason for everything. I also believe that good can come from what many would say is a sad, bad situation. It can make us stronger, evaluate and enrich our own lives. Pull families closer together. It makes us into what we become....positive or negative...our choice. Life, death, and all between, it's there to experience and learn from.
