Fern claws ...

in #photography9 years ago

Usually the Fern has consistent structure. The blades have regular lines and each and every blade lie softly over each other and slightly lower it ends. But not this one. This one is a rebel. He has fingers and claws.

Thanks a lot @bullionstackers!

very nice! I have to study more how to use ISO the right way.. am have trouble focusing the lens on my subject... do you mind If ask what photo editor you using?

I use Photo Shop and usually just level to make the background a little darker and the middle to get more detail. Then contrast a little, also to get more details, finally unsharp mask filter, not sharp, that's no good, use the unsharp mask and only lightly. Then stamp and pencil to take out unwanted dots and the small thing I don't like for the whole composition. Like in this photo there ware some small lights in the background that I painted over so the focus would be all on the Fern it self.

Not overdone enithing in this case, but because I like to "ruin" photos to make something totally new, then I use about everything and lots of it to get the picture I want. But not in photos like this one.

hi, bragih!

Thanks for getting back on me. I also use Photoshop but to crop and fix the basics, like you said about overdoing it. That's what I am afraid of. I don't edit photos at all now, because most of the time it turns into most awful photograph! lol I think am colorblind, runs in the family, I guess =)

How did you learn photography?

I did not learned it in school, I have worked as a designer for 30 years and started just using photos as a part of the design. But after 30 years doing it one little by little learn some :)

What a nice find and great Edit

The Silver Fern is a symbol on many if the NZ sports teams and hence is one I relate to this is like a dramatic take on it

Thank you, JJ. My garden is overgrown in some places, where no sun shins and only my hens love. But the Fern love it to. I think that this one must have been broken in one of the many times I have had to go into this darkness to fetch my hens :)

I love ferns, they remind me of playing in the forest!

I love them too, there is something mystical about them. The knowledge that they have not change since the time before the dinosaurs are one of it.

Lovely! Looks like she is looking at her own reflection in a water...

Thanks :)
