The One and Only Rauha is Back!
Rauha is an assistance dog that is trained to help people with disabilities. She has now been working for about 9 months, but came back because she needed a little bit of training. Before she went working she lived with us for a half year. You try to not get too attached with her but it's almost impossible when you are an animal lover. You can guess how hard it was to let her go the first time and not knowing if you would ever see her again.
Well here she is with us again and it was nice to see that she recognized us. I am so happy to get to see her again but it will be once again hard to say good bye when she's off to work. It's something of a double edged sword for me. I don't know exactly for how long she will be staying with us this time, it could be weeks, months. It's tough to not know.

If you have read my previous posts you may know that we have a cat named Picasso. It was exiting to see how these two cuties would get along and it went better than I thought. Rauha was very kind and did nothing that scared her. Picasso on the other hand was a little bit sceptical towards her and liked to provoke her sometimes, but they are building a better friendship all the time! :)

Btw, her name Rauha is a Finnish name and it means peace or peacefulness. It suits her very well because she's a very calm dog indeed. Rauha is such a lovely dog, if I could keep her as my own dog, I would!

You are absolutely right about that! I have to get a dog that is my own, so I don't have to say good bye anymore!
Im looking for a new place to live, ill probably move into a house again with a big garden so I can finally get a dog. Next xmas probably, i can't wait!

Aww, Rauha is sweet :) But I think I wouldnt be able to handle these emotional goodbyes... how long are the periods when she is not with you?
Yeah it's really difficult! :/..This i now our second assistance dog that we are taking care of. But still I have so many good memories with them! :)..I have no clue, if everything goes well for her it could be that I will never see her again.
Oh man... this is heartbreaking. I mean its good that she finds a loving owner and new home but letting her go must be just so sad. How about adopting a doggie from a shelter that will stay with you for the rest of his life?
Yeah, and it can't be easy for her either! :(..Actually we have thought about that! So let's see what the future holds!
Rauha seems like a very cute and fun dog.Definitely something to play with.It's quite surprising how some dogs are getting along with cats.Most of the dogs that I had or cats that I had - took care of were so scared of dogs and vice versa the dogs were vicious on the cats.I don't quite understand why you can't have the dog with you ?

Because she is an assistance dog. She has been living with us during her training. When she's ready, she will go to work. There she will live and help a person with disabilities.
