HAPPY NEW 2020
And here comes :) ... my first Happy New year post here on Steemit ...
... with a bit of small town firework for the start ...
... midnight caught me catching the sparkling lights above the port ...
... and it was a funny hunt ... because this wasn't one of those big, organized city fireworks where the whole show happens in one place, on the same sector of the sky and it has a flow and continuity so you just point your camera there, on that canvas and that's it ... nope ... here every group of party people has its own little show from some place in town ... and you can see sporadic pretty unpredictable sparkles appearing all around you ... is a bit like playing a video game :D Catch The Light ...
... and is a cool little midnight game to play after a few beers and some champagne ...
... the coolest catch, that made me feel really satisfied, was this shot with some shiny palm trees growing above the town ...
... the smoke hanging above the bay for a while after the lights was also pretty cool ...
... but now ...
... let's take a walk back in time ...
... not much back ... just some hours before ... it's evening of the 31 of December 2019 ...
... and we are in the same place ...
... around the port of Medulin, small town at the south end of the Istra peninsula, in Croatia ...
... watching the sky of the dying old year ...
... enjoying the meditative atmosphere ...
... of the empty winter beach ...
... with some crows ... and seagulls resting on the sandbanks ...
... and occasionally ...
... a person or two ...
... that only accentuate the lovely loneliness of the place ...
... it's a nice requiem for a year ...
... and the tide ...
... is low ...
... someone left the peace symbol in the sand ... and it looks appropriate ...
... then ... a few hours before ...
... the airplane is bound to disappear ...
... behind the thick curtain of clouds ...
... and ... since this post can't go on forever ... why don't end it here? :) ... THE END ... have a great new 2020 ... and future in general ... wherever on the planet you are ... Happy New Year ... as always in these posts on Steemit, the photographs are my work ..
