Fungi Friday - Chlatrus ruber
Here where I live this thing is called Vještičje srce ... and that means - Heart of the witch
It's a lovely looking fungus, very colorful, in most cases is red like a red poppy but can be also more orange in color
It's very beautiful and peculiar ... but is a bit smelly
With that unpleasant smell, fungus attracts the flies
Ad flies help to spread the spores
Usually, you can see a wide array of fly species on these fungi
:) And this was my first fungifriday post. Hello to all the fungifriday people.
( As always on these posts on Steemit, all the photographs are my work. )

Thank you!
What an amazing specimen! I don't think we have those over here. It's beautiful. Too bad about the smell.
True smelly beauty :)
Oh wow! I have never seen one like that!
Thanks for participating and Happy Fungi Friday! :))
Very cool Friday :) I saw so many great photos in fungifriday, very interesting posts and fungi I never saw before .
I always look for these but so far havent found one. Nice macro of the insides.

Here are very common :) but then there are other things in nature I'm always looking but didn't find.
The octopus stinkhorns are what i usually find that look similar around here.

Looks similar, looks like a very interesting little monster ... and I never saw it before!
Some really nice shots. The third and fifth pic were my favorites.
Thank you. Glad you liked it. These two are my favorites too.
These pictures are amazing. I've never seen a fungus like this. Nature is awesome!
Glad you like these pictures :) and that this species is new to you. I also discovered here in Fungi Friday some I never saw before.
maybe you can help this fungi to spread around, too? if you send me a few spores via the snail mail, I will try to grow it in my countryside place ))))
thanks for joining us, great post, I needed this so badly ))))
:) I'll send you a fly or two with some spores ... and some snails, in case the flies have some accident
hehe. I wonder how many years can take their travel, considering where the Serbia, and where the Finland, is located :) it could be a script for a powerful story!
ps. do you have trained flies and snails?
theres something I dont know about you, then :D
Hehe, this will be epic! Trilogy of movies :) could be done. Like Lord of the rings ... the fellowship of flies... and snails ... great! Just this insect training must be done first :)
part one: catching and training
part two: travelling
part three: agricultural jobs and awaiting a harvest
L.O.L
p.s. have you heard about new forthcoming hard-fork 21? If I understood correctly, it is planned to change the system of rewards to 50/50 for content creators / curators. what do you think of that?
:) We have a trilogy!
I didn't hear about that ... I don't even know how exactly are those things regulated now ... I read something in my first days here but looked complicated and then I forgot about this
I've never seen anything like this! It's incredible

:) Glad that is a new species for you. I like to see different organisms from around the world and here on Fungi Friday and on Steemit in general, I saw quite a few. This fungus is very common here where I live, that is Istra peninsula, northern Adriatic, the state is Croatia.
I do want to visit Croatia sometime. I've heard goos things
