My Motivation - Olympic Dictum
Last week I participated for the first time in a contest called #KillerPix Photography Contest! It was the 25th edition ... for me, it was the first edition. This week I came to the second contest. It is likely that the Olympic dictum will apply again: It's important to participate
Theme
Interestingly this contest, since I know it, the themes are ... geometric! The previous topic was cube and now the theme is Triangles! I'm very curious about the future theme.
My Contribution
As regards geometry and because the father of geometry is the Greek mathematician and philosopher Euclid, my post is from Greece. On the ferry going to the island of Thassos in the Summer of 2017. Two small islands in the Aegean Sea in the form of triangles.
Who was Euclid?
Because I remembered Euclid, I have to say about him, it's fabulous. Euclid lived 38 years, between 323-285 BC. His main book is called Elements. In this work, Euclid sets the basis for arithmetic and geometry. Euclid's "Elements" treaty has been the main book for more than 2,000 years after which geometry has been learned. Absolutely fabulous !!!

An anecdote says that Ptolemy I of Egypt asked Euclid to show him an easier way to understand geometry. The answer was:
There are no special roads for kings in geometry
As a conclusion, we must know and remember that: His work, The Elements, is the basis of mathematics even today, after 2300 years.
