Wish Tar - Episode 08 (End of Season 1)

The police cars formed a V shape behind her, other cars moved into the slow lane to allow the police cars to pass. From the air it looked like a scene from Grand Theft Auto, now it was six police cars in pursuit, Holly felt like a murderer being hunted, but she knew she was innocent, paranoia stomped on that thought, she was guilty she knew it, even the car she was driving was paid for with drug money. What was she to do, she had a full tank of fuel and the freeway stretched on into the horizon, of course, something strange was occurring right in front of her, a black tornado-like formation was stretching out in front of her, it was funneling down to the ground, just spiraling out at high speed until it covered the sky above her.

Holly looked up at this black curtain, even the police cars behind her slowed slightly; this was not normal. Holly took advantage of this weather anomaly and floored it, she was doing 140 mph easily, the police cars resumed their pursuit speed, Holly had no other choice but to switch on her headlights, the thing in the air was blocking out the sun, what was once daylight changed to darkness in seconds. Holly sped towards an overpass with the police hot on her tail, as she passed under the overpass, the darkened highway in front of her brightened to daylight again, but the landscape was alien to her. In her rearview mirror, she saw the police cars were gone, a loud thud could be heard as the overpass collapsed into blackness, everything was gone she was now driving her car on a blackened desert, no buildings, no mountains, no ocean, just blackness.

The car slowed to a stop, Holly opened the car door and climbed out onto this new alien landscape, was she on Earth, had she teleported to another planet. The car was fine, no damage, it seemed the overpass and the speed that she was travelling combined to save her from the fate experienced by everyone else in the city. She scanned the horizon to see if there were any other survivors, but there were none.
