What's in a name? That which we call a Bitcoin. By any other word would hash as sweet.

Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash that is the question? But first a look back at ancient history...

In July of 2016 almost 1 year ago to the day a divide rooted in differing fundamental values resulted in a similar and teachable nomenclature crisis as we are experiencing now with BTC and BCC.

Etherium was hard forked in an attempt to reverse damages incurred in the failed DAO project. With the support of the Founder and Lead Developer of Etherium Vitalik Buterin, the new fork off the orginal Etherium (ETH) chain adopted/co-opted the brand name Etherium and trading symbol (ETH) of the original chain from which it split.

Ethereum Classic came into existence when some members of the Ethereum community rejected the hard fork on the grounds of "immutability", the principle that the blockchain cannot be changed, and decided to keep using the unforked version of Ethereum.[10][ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethereum_Classic]

The original Etherium chain still active and the longest Etherium PoW chain at this time had always been known as Etherium (ETH) but was was renamed to Etherium Classic (ETC) with little to no resistance from anyone .

Essentially an ALT-Coin fork of the original Etherium brought both the founder and branding of Etherium (ETH) along with them. The status quo is that the new fork of this chain is referred to by the name of the original and the original chain is given the name of an alt-coin Etherium Classic (ETC). Correlation does not confirm causation so it is impossible to say if the hashrate and price followed the name or the developer and talent.

BTC-ETCEthereum Classic0.00592623 BTC/ETC6.918 TH/S

The end results however are starkly clear, hashrate and price of the token carrying the recognized Brand Name Etherium is over 1000% (10x) the value of the rebranded (Etherium classic) yet original product.

What does this mean for the current Segwit2x vs 8MB fork. Which coin will keep the name and will that be enough to determine the winner?
