Finding your footing.

The entire "communities" thing is really interesting. For a while I had it all mixed up. I hadn't completely grasped the change it has brought along. Inn my defense, I'm not very active nor am I able to give enough time to learn about the new changes that took place while I was gone. But slowly I'm getting the hang of it and I like it.

For the longest time my uneducated guess was that communities might be the next, much upgraded, easy to interact with tribes. Crazy, but it did make sense to me. In comparison, they both filter content into categories and have a dedicated group or format for curation. See? I do make sense to myself.

However, a few days back I can't across a very intriguing statement by a random steemian in twitter. It went something like: "well, steemit is kinda like a reddit already." or something of that sort. I tried to connect the dots and make sense of what he said but too no avail. The traditional steemit I knew was nothing like reddit. Maybe the tags, but honestly nothing close.

Fast forward a few days. Now I've upgraded from just uploading to dtube. I come across a few communities in discord and use their direct link to subscribe and be a part of the community - still not having a clear understand of them. I start posting and since I use steempeak which makes everything so simple I almost have no drive to figure out whats what and just post things like a braindead user.

For the longest time the entire system of steemit and UI has been scrutinised. From the trending posts, shitposts and how weird of a landing page it is. Golly, how horrible it was. I remember it like yesterday. All this lead from one thing to another. Thanks to how crapoy it was we got changes in the curation curve, the dv, smts, tribes and today communities (all of this and more but not in any specific order). One leading to another.

I do believe to be the best you have to learn from the best. Communities is a result of learning from the best. I think this is the best working model so far. It does look very reddit like - and isn't reddit the absolute best? It solves a lot of issues, too.

Now with communities every person can first and foremost feel comfortable to land anywhere and start from where they like. They can find a home of their own in these amazing subreddit like categories. No one has to now be bound to engine, or the ugky and messed up landing page, but instead everyone has a community of their own chouce to be welcomed in and enjoy steem while learning and branching from it. It gives everyone a home in a very familiar model and a working one.
