Keeping Busy With MegaCon Orlando
Man, is it weird to say I missed Steemit? I’ve been posting daily since I started 6 weeks ago and for the first time it was just too hectic here to get a post in for a few days. Figured I’d just give a quick update. I’m away exhibiting at MegaCon Orlando. I’ll show the progression of getting a booth going from start to finish.
I’m stupid and didn’t think about this until after I already started the booth so I’m using a pic of the booth across from me for the “start” pic just so you get the idea. Each spot is a 10x10 and I have 2 making it a 10x20. They come with just curtain and tables.
After carrying these stupid heavy gridwall panels to the booth, I attach them and secure them with zip ties to form a “room”. I usually just leave 1 6 foot opening nowadays as it easier to monitor for scumbag thieves who are looking to pillage which yes...sadly happens at pretty much every con.
Then comes the hanging of the shelves. My booth nowadays is primarily Funko Pops And after the shelves are up, I start popping them up in sections to make it easier to find pieces once asked. It’s kinda hard as we bring over 1500 different pieces with us which definitely gives us the largest selection in every con.
I also usually set up a small spot for some random variants and comics I pop up.
With setup done after about 8 hours, we are ready to let the rabid monster enter and devour pieces!
Doing these shows is a ton of hard work. It’s going to bed late, getting up early. Being on your feet all day. Traveling. Expenses. Dealing with someone trying to haggle you down on everything. It can be trying at times, but I do enjoy it. I connect with new people and see repeat customers each year. I wouldn’t change it for anything!!!

No lie...I swear to god...I drooled on one of the pops as I was unboxing. Just because I was an idiot and 7 hours into setting up the booth. I was bent over unboxing with my mouth open and....driiiiiiiiip. Just like that. I’m pretty sure it sold too. Lol
Nothing more rewarding than to keep busy in something that belongs to you and that you are making grow. It takes time and effort, it's true, like all the things that are worthwhile in life. Success!
Thx @marynet !! Yeah it’s a great feeling accomplishing things like this. These cons while exhausting are very rewarding. I see people and they remember me from previous years. It allows me to connect with new collectors. I do love it.
Also had missed Steemit, didn't catch this post, let me know if you need a hand with anything today or the weekend ( cryptocollectibles @ gmail is connected on my phone). I almost want to say for sure I popped in your booth for a second (I had a Funko fan with me so imagine at the least he definitely was in your booth).

Came by today (and yesterday too but before I knew it was your shop), however I did not see you, or at least I didn't think I did, two dudes and a lady looked like the employees there.

Oh, I was definitely in the right booth (rechecked your pic of your set up, that panoramic shot is awesome btw, all stores should do a quick snap of their booth like that), I guess I just walked to up the right customers that looked like sales people (they might of had all matching shirts or some crap). SOLO? Dude, wtf, do you need or want help so you can take a lunch or something? I will seriously try and stop by tomorrow. You'll know it's me when I try and by something with Steem. I think this may be my favorite Megacon so far, hope your store is killing it in that room, jam packed all day.
Next time we will definitely have to set it up. I’ll be at Heroescon in Charlotte in a few week. Attending?
I will not be there. Damn dude, so how many cons do you do a year? I mean you can't beat that math if you are doing things dolo (profitswise), but man, the amount of work involved, seriously I was hoping you would have emailed me to take a damn break or put up shit or if you needed to grab anything signed or taken care of on the floor. I will attempt to come out of my shell if an opportunity like this presents itself again, because I definitely see you on Sunday. You were always busy though, and should be, you had a great combo of the pops, comics, and other toys too.
I almost got my first pop at the con, I had that Bob Ross blank exclusive in my hands twice but never pulled the trigger (I suck though, it would have been just bought to be sold anyways so not really coun't as my first).
I do a bunch. Depends on the year. 10 maybe? It’s a ton of work and beats me down...a bit more every year. Would love to cut it back in the next year or two.
