Ladybug, four stages of metamorphosis
Today I want to show you all four stages of ladybugs life cycle. First of all, I'm not an expert for insects and I don't know much more about ladybugs than you know. I'm just photographer who last few year constantly trying to capture all of those four stages of metamorphosis.
Entire life cycle of ladybugs is only 4 to 7 weeks. First a stage is egg. After long searching for eggs of ladybugs I finally found them. Usually ladybugs put their eggs under wide leafs on trees, it's very difficult to spot it If you don't look under leafs. You can see few photos of eggs below this text.
Second stage of metamorphosis is "Larva"! For so long period of time I wondered what a hell is this?! Yes, I didn't had a clue, but my personal curiosity woke desire to find answers (many people claim that ignorance is bliss, I don't agree at all, I would rather say ignorance is curse!). Below you can see few shots of larva.
Third stage is "Pupa", there is just small difference in looks between 2 and 3 stages. They both looks so weird to me. This phase is long just 5 to 7 days. Many of us already seen this weird creatures but without awareness and knowledge what was that. I provide few photos of pupa.
Fourth stage is very well known to everyone, 'Adult"! Even little children know for ladybugs. Photographers also likes them and they are often main subject of theirs photographs, I'm one of them! I hope you will enjoy in photos :)

I have always found ladybugs so pretty. We call them 'lienka' in my language and it just sounds very cute :)
I have never seen their eggs or larvae so thank you for showing them. Every day is a school day and I again learned something new today..

Wow, isn't nature amazing? You say you're not an expert. let me tell you, I had no idea about these four stages of the ladybug, actually I knew nothing about their life. I knew them as they are in stage four and that's it. I may have seen the larva and the eggs but as you say "without awareness and knowledge what was that". Now thanks to you I've learned something today and I'm really grateful for that.
I love your new habit of documenting the evolution of these ladybugs. I also have this habit but only with plants, flowers and/or trees so far. It's very interesting to see their evolution throughout the year.

Yes, nature is amazing everyday shows me something new. I spend a lot of my time in nature, mostly chasing butterflies :) We are all in the process of learning and no one of us is born with instant knowledge about everything! About ladybugs 4 stages I found out by reading Insects encyclopedia, there I saw drawn illustrations, then is born idea about making photos.
All my dealing with photography is mostly dedicated to nature, I don't go anywhere without my camera and I shoot everything what can I see. I'm glad that my photos helped someone to see and learn something new! :)

I had no idea a lady bird had so many different cycles and thinking about I haven't seen one now for a few years. They are one of my favorite insects and always stop when I see one. You have done a great post and amazing that you even found the eggs.
I watched them during year or more! I visit places where I know it's their habitat so many times. Here where I live literally you can find them everywhere, in so many colors, size. I thought several times that is invasion of ladybugs. One warning, If you touching them just be aware that yellow one have nasty habit to bite, all other are completely harmless! :)
