Just thinking out loud
As far as I'm aware, if you compared apples to apples with same amount to transaction volume to a blockchain network, the amount of computing power used in the IOTA scheme for proof of work which is distributed to every device, even when you add up all the work each device is doing... the amount of computing power used for consensys/security in IOTA is still far, far less than a blockchain system.
