My Weight Management Journey: Day 5
This is the morning of day 5 of my weight management journey. Every morning first thing I weigh in.
Numbers so far: 238.8 => 235.3 => 234.2 => 235.0 => 233.4
I know it may just be poo and water, but still, it is quite pleasant to see the numbers going in a downward direction! And, I can already feel it just a little. It feels good.
I call it weight management rather than the usual "weight loss" because, as we all know by now, losing weight is one thing; keeping it off permanently is something else entirely. By learning to manage weight I am actually learning to think differently about food and eating, in particular being very purposeful of what I choose to eat, and even more importantly, the portion size! Most of we overweight people are where we are because we go about fulfilling the need for eating in a haphazard, careless, gluttonous way. If we would treat our bodies like the beloved machine they are and care for them rather than take them for granted and abuse them, I think we'd all see a lot of positive physical and mental changes coming our way! That's what I believe, anyway, and that's the approach I'm taking. I will change the REASONS that I'm not at a weight I ought to be, rather than simply attacking the symptom.
Anybody else on a weight management journey? And, what is your approach and how has your progress been?
