1920 yılında doğdu. 1934'de los angelas'a taşındı. 500 civarı kısa hikaye, roman, oyun ve şiiri yayımlandı.
bir dönem hollywood'da senaryo yazarı olarak çalıştı ve yaşadıklarını deliler mezarlığı kitabıyla özetledi.

1950 yılında yazdığı mars yıllıkları çok tanınan ve beğenilen bir diğer eseridir. kitabın ithaki yayınları tarafından yapılmış olan çevirisi başarılıdır, tavsiye ederim.
bradbury'nin bilimkurgu yazarlarında sık rastlanmayan şiirsel bir üslubu vardır.
"bir kültürü yok etmek için kitapları yakmanıza gerek yok, insanların okumayı bırakmasını sağlayın yeter" demiştir.
