ORIGIN PAN CAKE

If something exists immemorially in most traditional Venezuelan households, it is the preparation of the bread cake, which is prepared with the old bread that is no longer useful or to be drank with the coffee with milk.

The way it is prepared is simple, however, there are variants according to the aggregates that add different family traditions.

Ingredients:

2 cups of breadcrumbs It can be of any kind, as long as it is hard
2 cups of liquid milk
4 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup condensed milk
6 teaspoons margarine
1 spoon of vanilla
Raisins to taste

This is a very common sweet in Venezuela and I had never made it, when looking for recipes to guide me I found that in Spain it is also known under the name: "bread pudding" and indeed, the origin of this dessert is European, however, the Venezuelan version incorporates condensed milk, raisins and even shredded llanero cheese.

Like most traditional recipes, this arises from the need to take advantage of the remains of the table in seasons of crisis, especially the postwar period, one of the parents of this recipe is the bread and butter Budin of English origin according to the chef Ivette Franchi (Venezuela).

In Venezuela, one of the most used recipes uses paper as a sweetener which gives it a unique and very "criollo" flavor, more gourmet recipes substitute this for honey. The Spanish recipe seems more like a quesillo, with a smooth and creamy texture. I give you the simplest recipe
