Dtube Chat: Toxic People and How To Drop 'Em Like They're Hot
Hey guys!
So something that I struggle with often is the issue of toxic people. These kind of people can be found online, in our groups of friends, and more often than not in our family.
If you have people in your life that constantly rely on you but that you can never rely on, you may want to reconsider the time you are putting in to those relationships.
Toxic people are also expert manipulators, and can be often difficult to identify.
I promise that if you successfully identify the toxicity in your life and eliminate it, your life will improve dramatically!

Yeah they are very smart, and typically not easy to get away from. It's often more trouble than it's worth sometimes, and in that case, I just try to not let those people get me down. I'm a rather happy person for how negative I can come across sometimes. I guess that is more part of my personna than anything.

There are always a few "turds in the fish bowl" as we like to say, haha. They walk into the room and suck out all the oxygen it seems. Like you, I understand when someone is having a down day and needs a pick me up, some encouragement, etc. I actually am glad to have those folks in my life and try to be that person for others in need, but some folks just suck the life out of you. Good video!
Yeah I always typically fall into the "continue to do for those that won't do for you category". It's exhausting, but more importantly, it really hurts the relationships I have with the people who do a lot for me. I have cut that shit out a lot though. I remember that my hubs comes first and then my kids and parents. No one is lining up outside my door to help me during these hard times, so the little time I have left I divide up among friends...which hasn't been much lately.
Frankly, the discord gets more of my time, because that's where a lot of my supportive friends are now! #SorryNotSorry! :)

Some of my favourite people in this world are the ones who stood by me when i was down to nothing :)

Yeah, family is a hard one. I found even though people might be toxic, I don't ever want to fully rid them because they might need me as well.

Absolutely. I would never abandon family, but sometimes I have to take a step back. It is easier, I think, for family members to manipulate because they know that you aren't going anywhere you know? In times of crisis, I am probably one of the most reliable out of all my siblings, and it gets old sometimes. So in times of not-crisis, I really try to focus on helping out and hanging with the people who care about me and are there for me, if that makes any sense.

Moving country (or even cities I guess) is such an amazing way to shed the toxic people. The people you're close to can still maintain a relationship, social media makes that so incredibly easy now, but picking up and starting over in a new place is so amazingly cleansing in that regard.
We are actually considering maybe moving to Michigan where my brother is at. It's cooler, cheaper and I would love to get out of the same place I have lived my whole life!
