Is the maximum speed of energy travel, matter, and information in the universe, according to Einstein's theory of relativity.
The speed of light is 300 thousand kilometers per second, which means that the light beam can rotate seven times around the globe in the second.
Scientists have conducted many experiments to measure the speed of light and reached the value we mentioned earlier (300 thousand kilometers per second). It is usually denoted by c to denote Constant or Latin (celeritas).

Light spreads in transparent materials such as glass and air at less than c. The ratio between c and the velocity of light in a substance is called the refractive index n for that material (n = c / v) and the visible light speed in the air is about 90 km / h than the speed of light.
This great speed of light was used to estimate astronomical distances between stars and galaxies because it could not in any way depend on the watts used on earth such as meters, feet, inclination and multiples. The distance measurement unit in astronomy is the light year, which is the distance traveled by light during a year which is equal to 94.6 trillion km. We can say that the sun is about 150 million kilometers from us, or that the distance between them is 8 minutes. It takes light as it leaves the sun until we reach 8 minutes.
Until 1676 the light was thought to be transmitted momentarily until Ole Romer, a Danish astronomer, explained that the light was fast by observing Jupiter's lunar eclipse. And was able to calculate the first value of the speed of light. It is 220,000 km / s
After centuries of increasing accuracy measurements, the speed of light was defined in 1975 as 299,792,458 m / s, with a measurement accuracy of four parts per billion

Interesting post, though I think you abuse images a little too much. I don't think this post required any image, much less 4.
An idea for a follow-up post: How do they measure the speed-of-light? :P
You have the right to make a lot of pictures, but I want to link the idea and the information with the picture, it may be more solid in mind
