a moment captured
Reversed Portrait
I took this photo on the very last day of our one month journey over Burma. When I saw this beautiful figure standing on top of the city, looking down and having a peaceful moment, I just knew that I had come for this moment to capture and bring back home.
The past and the present comes together in this place,
just like ancient words and today's graffiti mix on the wall.
I know it's not a usual portrait because we can't see the face of the young monk, but I guess it's not that important. For me this photo represents Buddhism entirely. Feels airy, pure and essential, as white light surrounds him. Looking down on the dirty city, far from its dust and noises, I can tell by his posture that he is part of it and part of everything.
I'm glad that I shared this moment with him.
