Contest Alert : Is Experience the best teacher? What's your take?

Hello friends, Great to be with you all again after a long time off. Hope we are all doing great. I am so pleased to be back. It was not really easy all these while, so many challenges and difficulties, but one have to move on.

I am so much interested in the contest by @lhorgic. It has a very interesting topic. This topic having differing opinions by people from various backgrounds. The title is Is Experience the best teacher? What's your take?.

It seems that many believe and tend to agree with the above expression. I see so many using this expression both in their personal lives and when referring to others. However, the fact that it is expressed by many does not make it a truth.

To be candid it does not really work that way.and depends on the situation in which it is applied. A person do not need to experience a havoc or consequences of his action before believing that the action or conduct is wrong.

I am going to describe both scenarios.

A fresh graduate is employed newly in an organization. He has to be trained in order to fit into the job. However, he will learn a lot as he continues in the job, acquiring valuable experience in the process. In this scenario, experience is the best teacher

This can partially be applied to a marriage setting. What it means to get married can only be understood when you are in the union ad experience the challenges of a.mare8age setting, even though sometimes, we can learn from older ones who have been long in the institution.

This mainly applies to taking wrongdoings or actions that are morally wrong. We already know some basic principles in life like

° stealing is bad

° Adultery is bad and have its own consequences

*Honesty is the best policy

° Greed is also bad, etc.

We know that the above, many other vices and some degrading ways of life have serious repercussions that comes along with engaging with them. We have also been witnesses to. So for these and many others we do not need to learn by experiencing them firsthand. Just seeing the sad consequences experienced by others is enough to make us stay away from them. We can learn from other people's experiences.

From the above two scenarios, we can deduce that the expression under scrutiny is only applicable depending on the situation.

There are situations that could be avoided just by learning from other peoples experience and there are some like a job, that you learn from your own experiences.

So I Would finally conclude that the saying is not absolutely true. It can be applied to some instances, while in others it is not applicable.
