The Urban Cafe in Den Haag is one of my favourite places to sit and have a coffee. Centrally located in The Hague near the centre and the train station, and right across the plein from the library and Stadhuis.

Oddly enough, it shares the building with a luxury furniture shop... which is more than a little weird, but they are quite seperate.

The Space

There is ample seating, which makes it a great place to meet friends o just to sit down with a laptop and just write for Steem! Or as I sometimes do, I use it as a rest point to have a little cake and drink with my children... after an afternoon at the library!

There are also comfortable lounge like chairs for a bit more class and relaxation (I've tried not to directly photograph people!). Also, there are the all important power outlets for juicing up when you want your laptop to push harder on gaming!

The Menu

Coffees are the main event here... and they do do a great one! However, it is also possible get juices (smoothies) and tea if that is more your style of drink... No alcohol though!

Edible fare is limited... mostly to cakes or a couple of varieties of toasted sandwiches. After all, this is a cafe and not a restaurant!

The Food and Drink

Cappucino... which is always great! I pretty sure that they give the baristas here a proper training with the machine. It shows, as it is much better fare than the stuff that you can get at the Star.....

My kid had a mango smoothie though... coffee is not quite her thing yet! I have to say, this was also quite delicious... I probaly ended up drinking about half of it (because she couldn't finish it... not because I stole it!)

... and to round it out, a very nice carrot cake.... of which, I had much less than half!

The Experience

This is actually a very nice place to rest up and relax for a bit. Bring a laptop, or a nice book and curl up with a coffee... the only way it could be better would be if they had beanbags to lounge around in!

However, failing that... great coffee, food and nice open light windows make for a perfect temporary afternoon workplace... or a place to meet up for coffee before heading out to do other things in the city centre.

Highly recommended, I often find myself returning!
