Got My First Haejin Flag

I have only been a member of Steemit for almost four months now and I've still got a way to go before I make it on this site. Today I took my first step towards "making it" I received my first @haejin flag.

I wrote a tongue in cheek satire post proposing we rename Steemit to Haejinit and it got a few upvotes, I would have earned about $2 in payouts, and then Haejin comes along and flags it with a 7% downvote.

Keep in mind I am only new to Steemit, so this kind behaviour and treatment of new Steemians is only going to damage this site and deter other people from trying to make it on Steemit.

I don't care about losing $2, I am not here for the money. But every bit of money I do earn goes into mostly powering up (with some used for bot promotion). I am not rich, so every bit helps me continue to write new content and reach new eyeballs.

Who else has Haejin silenced with his power? Has he caused Minnows to abandon Steemit because they were discouraged? Probably. Has word of his abuse reached those outside of Steem and deterred from joining? Maybe.

If you're reading this @haejin you are a sad individual. Someone with your type of power and reputation shouldn't just go flagging down content you disagree with to silence the conversation about how you're damaging this platform by taking more then you should from the rewards pool.

I won't be discouraged from speaking out against abuse on this platform, even if it means I get down-voted by @haejin or anyone else abusing this place.

It seems far too many people are scared of power users like Haejin and now I am going to advocate stronger and louder that Steem developers really fix how broken this platform has become.

I am so grateful that @berniesanders and his proxy accounts are keeping you in check. I never understood why people hated on you Haejin, but now I understand why and it's not because you've made it to the top, it's because you're a cancer on this platform that needs to be cut out.

Your use of the flagging system is a blatant abuse of a feature reserved for flagging spam, hate speech, trolling and other scenarios which my satire post did not apply. The fact you got so offended just validates my point, rather than see the funny side to the post or ignore it, you had to flag.

If you're going to flag, leave the newbies and small-scale users on Steemit trying to make something for themselves by posting real content out of it. You're just damaging a platform that already makes it hard for newbies to succeed.
