Tree Village - Concept Art - 'Art for Archmage Rises'
Hello Steemers!
Today I'd like to share a step by step process on a painting I did for the upcoming indie-game 'Archmage Rises'.
The game is planned to be released in 2018! Although there is still sooo much to be done! :)
One of the images I made was a piece of concept-art (not sure if it ends up in the game) for a 'dungeon' idea up in the trees.
So here I go about and show you the step-by-step process on how I created it.. It also includes a quick YT video as I also recorded this painting during a livestream.
Step 1: Background! ;) ( had an idea and color scheme in mind for this)
Step 2: Shapes of the buildings.. Trying to see if I can enforce a composition for having the viewer jump/walk from building to building.
Step 3: Texture brushes and flesh out some of the buildings.
Step 4: Flesh out more of the design of the trees and buildings.
Step 5: Color balanced and pushed the values a bit up, Added some more detail to the buildings and a few lights ;)
Step 6: More atmosphere, details and lights added.. Almost done!
Step 7: Done!! It is a painting from a little while ago.. If I would do it now I'd probably change a bunch! But it is alright!

haha Yep! Definitely, the designs they did on the old star wars movies are so strong it immediately makes you think back about it :D

Would yo u like to actually build this village or something like it? We have a 20 acre homestead in the woods near woodstock , NY and one of the ideas we have is to buildd a few tree houses... I really like what you did there!

I will let you know for sure....the village in the trees will double as section in a drone racing track that will be a star wars, burning man hybrid....
