NEED VS. GREED

Football matches always have two teams.
Winners and Losers, just the way it beams.
“Home Team advantage, and all of that!”
And each game, a rough skirmish of combat.
All other sports are so much the same.
It’s the way it is. No-one’s to blame?
Politics is this way, decidedly so!
Scrummages between one and another, wherever they go!
Banking, Big Business, again, same traits,
The forward striving winners, and the second rate lates.
Competitiveness is firmly ingrained at schools.
Teams? The Smart Kids versus The Fools.
The Smart Kids are put on a pedestal, so to speak.
The Fools left behind, abandoned, so weak!

So, why not have two sides to the daily living of life?
The Well-to-do “Silver spoon” set, or the Greedy.
Versus the disadvantaged, disgruntled, but largely content Needy.
The Needy Team comprises the downtrodden and poor,
Along with the persecuted and desperate, to be sure.
The Greedy Team has big business and banks,
Politicians and lawyers, all with no thanks.
The Greedy Team always wins the prize, millions of dollars!
The Needy Team, at best, become Runner-ups, in empty wallows.

But, is there any point to matches that only ever produce one winner?
And never, ever, invited to the Victory Dinner.
It seems that there will always be Haves and Have Nots.
The poor better become accustomed to the mantle of clots!
