The Move : Personal Log

So there's this FUNKY smell in my kitchen...

20180124_150239.jpg

It's still there. I've thrown everything natural at it, vinegar, baking soda, essential oils ~ certified organic ones at that. I even steam mopped the floors within an inch of it's life and the damn smell is still there.

I expressed my frustration to a friend and she recommended Nilodor. At this point I'm ready to try anything. Yeh bring them chemicals on!

I have been told, if it's a dead rat 😱 that the smell should go when it decomposes 😷....

Just lovely....

I am hoping it is dog pee.

Can't believe I said I'm hoping it's dog pee... This is where I'm at you guys lol

I'll let you know how the Nilodor works out. If you have suggestions I wanna hear them! I'm right up to my eyeballs with this kitchen.

It's messing with my Zen.

In other news...

The courier came with this!!

It's been about 20 month since I have had a proper internet connection. I've been on mobile broadband this whole time and I gotta say, it was brutal.

I went from unlimited internet to 2gb a week. Every mb was precious and I didnt have a choice but to minimise my usage because we were saving for our build/house.

I'm pretty excited!

There's so many things I wish I can listen in like all the live shows but I was always limited by my data limit. Not anymore!

I'm so happy, I forgot about that smell for a second.

More News!!!

@Phelimint just posted the 2018 Steemit Round Comp!

Am I going for it? Yes I am! Why not right?

I already have a theme in mind.

I just hope it looks good enough to get the votes 🙏 No doubt the competition will be fierce.

And just cos I'm talking about them I had to grab them out of their spot for a quick photoshoot.

Cos that's what crazy stackers do, they take photos of their stash in random places 😉.

Last but not the least..

Today's Moving Tip

Need to move big furniture on tiles or floorboards but it's heavy and you don't want to scratch the floor?

Check this out

Hubby's all: Don't move anything heavy! Wait for me.
I'm like: Oh please, I gots this.

I put thick socks flat under each foot and then dragged the table around. Once you found the spot, remove the socks.

I haven't decided on the spot yet.

Genius? or Dodgy?

💗 Arly

Sort:

clean the water catcher in your fridge, at the back, close to the compressor. They can smell really bad.

Ok I'll check it out. We didn't have this smell at the old house though :(

it happened to my fridge after it was transported

Those floors are beautiful, Make sure you put some of those permanent little felt pads/feet on the bottom of your furniture. I'm crazy about those damn things, I follow the movers around with a handful last time, my wife was so annoyed and embarrassed.

I'm super excited to see your design submissions.

nice suggestion @phelimint hope to have more for me hehe 😊😊

Hahaha my hubby is a bit like that too. I have the felt pads, I even have the extra big ones you can cut to size 😁

Thanks Phil!! Might try and draw it this time 😱

Those felt things are essential for wood floors. or any floor that might get damaged by movement

Go Momi! We will surely cheer for you on your future submission to 2018 Silver Round
-And dang! Your floor is sparkling, I can imagine the mop swishing over it and how extra you've been at these days.

Thank you Patty! 💗💗

Nothing like a good steam mop to do the job!

Ang ganda talaga tingnan ng malinis na bahay. Totally goals!

I use the sock trick all the time lol, it’s so much faster than waiting for someone to help you move big furniture!

Must be a Genius move then! ;) It sure is. I'm very impatient like that! lol

Me to, my partner came home to our whole house rearranged when I was about 8 months pregnant. I just had to move everything lol. He nearly lost it he was so mad 😠I used the sock trick for all the big stuff including an oak unit that took 3 guys to move into the house. I blame the nesting.

oh i hope it's not a dead rat! It could smell really awful. I don't really know how to remove such smell unless you find the spot where the funky smell is coming from. Haha. Nice idea about moving furnitures and heavy things sis 😁

very good :).. genius!

Hi mami arly! How are you? Congrats that finally you can now stop using your mobile data 😂 i know it's sucks esp if it's slow just like the mobile data here. Lol no reliable internet here in the philippines.

You have got beautiful floors, Make sure you put some carpet pieces on the bottom of your furniture. I'm crazy about those things, I follow the movers around with a handful last time, my wife pointed out that you have managed very well.

I am excited to see your coming designs. Keep it up

Old towels have been my go to for shoving under bookcases or cupboards to drag them along. Just not great on stone or concrete, though that's why 'old' towels

nice one!
try charcoal
loads of them
the Koreans use them in their fridge to get rid of the smell the kimchi spreads in there
if you have a whole sack of coals just open it and it'll absorb that
unless it really is dead rat
good luck! and congrats for your new place
