The first time I ever played a video game was when I was about 7 years old. We had an Atari console. Who knows when after, but soon, my Dad came home with a Nintendo console and that was where my love of games really came about. It was the first time I laid eyes on Mario and Luigi, and the first time I played Contra.

Who remembers doing the left right left right up down up down combinations to unlock game features?

Now known as the Konami Code.

Contra is a point and shoot side scrolling game, that provided me with hours upon hours of enjoyment in my childhood.

These last few years Diablo has consumed my gaming life and although we have played other couch co-op games since, Diablo 3 still sits on top of my favourite list.

That was until Hubby came home with.....

ROGUE STORMERS

This game got me through last week. You know those days when you just want to shoot someone? This one is awesome for those days.

Rogue Stormers is a pretty simple and straight forward game. It's a side scroller and you only ever need to go up down or side to side and the controls are easy to master. If I can play this game anyone can.

It has Single Player, Couch Co-op and Online Co-op Mode.

When you begin the game in both single and co-op mode you get Brecht.

Brecht is not too bad, actually he's a great all rounder. Nice default rate of fire and reload, good fire range. Brecht is a trooper and my favourite character so far.

Here is the Couch Co-op screen. You can see we finally unlocked Camille.

Basically the challenge is to unlock all 5 characters and collect all the upgrades so your character can be all they can be.

To unlock the characters you must complete these stages without dying.

Sure there's a story somewhere, bits and piece of it is collected throughout the game, but I'm not too interested in that.

I'm in it for the action and the mindless point and shoot therapy. Check this video out!

The Perks also add excitement and mystery to the game. Perks is something players pick up in the game, but once you die you lose all your perks and will need to start over.

We've been playing this game for a couple of weeks and have seen some really awesome perks.

What I like about this game.

👉 It's easy to control. You don't have to be some super pro gamer to play this game. Go side to side, up, down, point and shoot - and you'll be right.

👉 The Perks! I love the perks! We figured out the more perks the better and go at lengths to open up treasure chests hoping to find perks in there.

👉 It's fun! I actually feel like this is a great party game. The controls are easy but the game is challenging and are some crazy hectic moments in the game that gets the adrenaline going.

👉 It was a bargain at the Playstation Store $37.95AUD and that price includes Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams.
