I Was Up Around 4:45am ..

With the dogs. They ate their vittles and went outside to do their business. It was super dark then with not even a hint of light on the horizon. I am sure if I were down at the beach, I would be able to see the area just at the horizon, begin to lighten, as the morning sun was making an approach. Not the case here; there are just too many trees in the way. I would be leaving for work in an hour or so and I know the sun will be brightening things up around here, just in time for my 20 minute commute into work.

I Am Ready To Head Into Work Now ..

I take another glimpse out the windows and the rear glass sliding doors. I am in wonderment over the display of color forming in the sky to the East. SPECTACULAR!! Truly spectacular it was. I occasionally see an impressive sunrise. I believe I either miss them all together or maybe there are just fewer pretty sunrises as compared to sunsets. Either way, I did not debate this trivial thought too long because I became caught up in the beauty of this morning's first light.

A Display of Wonderful Colors ..

Dark blues, purples, pinks, and a tiny bit of orange mixed with peach. I am sure I left a few colors out of that list, but no worries.. You’ll make your own mental list. I think that the greys and blacks of the silhouetted trees and buildings in the foreground, make the picture all that more captivating. Obviously a few palm trees would be a better fit for both my pictures and my frame of mind. It was a meer 16F or -9C when I was out taking these. I had to retake the first few shots due to my phone lens fogging up.

I Didn’t Linger Long ..

I had to get my butt to work, so I finished ewww’ing and ahhhh’ing over the sunrise and hit the road to work. I did, however, manage to get a few snaps along the way.

Here is one that I took through the frosted window within the comfort of my truck. The colors are beginning to fade now..

This one was taken as I was stopped at the end of the road. Again, you can just make out some frost still stuck to the windshield of my truck.

About Me ~ The Artist

My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.

Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.

For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.
