Event life, sometimes fun, sometimes.....

I have been in event industry for few years. Since I graduated, I worked two years full time in this industry. Then I tried to change environment before. I have doing tourism for half year, book store half year and coffee shop for one year. At last I made a come back to serve in event industry. But this time, not fulltime anymore, just freelance.

This post I will tell you more about the real life behind the scene of this job.

Before I get into this industry, I am also same with you all think that this job is very promising and can earn a lot. Haha. For real, this is what I think.

So I am into this job as a projection technician, which is I will be doing all things about visual. Why I am in this position? Because I studied degree in movie production. So in event industry, only visual side is match the criteria. Why I am not into movie production field? Well, what I can answer you is work is not easy to get. So at that time my thinking is why not just work first, find another related work later? And now, I already cannot run away from this industry. Haha.

Back in 2011, I really like my job because at that time my working drive is I am having a great team to work with. Our working environment is stressful and very long working hours, sometimes you will not feel your bed for weeks, even month. The biggest element that drive us to continue is friendship and family value. We help each other, we backup each other, we share the sweat and tear, we share the fun. So this is one biggest value why I still can survive.

Brotherhood that form between us

Different event, you will have different perspective. This is another value that you can get from this industry. Sometimes, you can learn other industry, such as automobile, pharmaceutical, oil and gas and many more.

Government show "You Can Duit". This is an initiative from government for people to earn money using online platform

Off course if you are doing concert gigs, for sure you can get in touch with artist. This is another previlage for us in event industry.

After fun part, now we goes to part that not so fun. First and most hectic is working time not stable. Most of the time in a year, you have not much time to rest. In my memory, the longest leave that I can get is at chinese new year, other than that, I never remember I have take any leave.

Sleeping time? No need think about that whrn you are at peak season. I have been working non stop for one month. All the sleepless night is countless.

I hate last minute. When you are preparing something to do, a call coming then you force to cancel your appointment and do the work. I am facing last minutes call for a year till I never do Pre planning anymore. Haha. Why Malaysian especially Sabahan lIke to Last minutes???? This is always playing in my mind.
